A tabloid is announcing a “second marriage shock” for Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Gossip Cop can explain why this is fake news. We actually already busted the false story it is based on.
According to New Idea, Aniston and Pitt have “quietly reunited” and are “working on mending their relationship.” Now the actor’s “friend[s] and family are begging him to remarry Jen,” claims the magazine. It’s specifically alleged that his own parents are “actively trying to play matchmaker.”
What exactly are they doing? Quoting from a debunked Life & Style article, the outlet claims Pitt’s mom and dad are “desperately trying to convince Brad that Jen was the right one for him all along.” The report references Pitt’s estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, with it being asserted his parents “just never embraced her the same way they did Jen.” It’s further claimed, “Going through such a complicated divorce with Angelina has made Brad realize how easy life was with Jen.”
New Idea concludes its piece by stating, “Neither Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston have responded to Life & Style‘s report.” That isn’t true. When Gossip Cop busted this narrative about Pitt’s parents supposedly urging him to marry Aniston again, we noted that his spokesperson confirmed on the record that the contentions were untrue. In fact, they were and are so outrageously off-base that the rep actually laughed aloud.
In addition to failing to mention that, the tabloid also says nothing about Aniston being pregnant, which is what it announced earlier this week. As Gossip Cop noted then, the father of this (nonexistent) child wasn’t named, even though this same magazine claimed Aniston was pregnant with Pitt’s baby in May. On top of forgetting all that, the outlet has apparently also forgotten all the times before this that it has claimed the exes were tying the knot again.
In February, for example, the publication did a cover story announcing a “wedding and a baby” for the pair. In that piece, it was alleged they had a “commitment ceremony in Anguilla.” That was entirely disregarded in April when the tabloid insisted Pitt and Aniston were planning to wed in his home state of Missouri by the end of the year. Now neither of those nuptial tales are acknowledged in this new “second marriage shock” story.
New Idea keeps spreading fake news about weddings and pregnancies for Pitt and Aniston, regardless of accuracy or consistency. And don’t just take our word for it. In a new article published Friday about Aniston moving on from her split with Justin Theroux, E! Online stresses that she and Pitt have not rekindled a romance, and even notes that she “would like to date a non-actor” going forward.
As for his love life, “Entertainment Tonight” recently reported that Pitt has chosen to focus on fatherhood instead of dating. His parents would no doubt know that, which makes it even more apparent that the Life & Style report about his mom and dad encouraging him to reunite with Aniston is bogus. That New Idea picked it up, particularly after all its prior stories, shows that it truly has no idea what is going on.
Conclusion: New idea claims there’s a “second wedding shock” for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, as they’re supposedly back together and being urged to remarry by his parents. But Gossip Cop already proved these allegations were false when they were first peddled by Life & Style. Pitt’s own spokesperson dismissed the contentions as laughably false, and there is reliable reporting from other outlets showing that the former spouses have not gotten back together and won’t be doing so.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
