Jennifer Aniston did not "flee to Italy" amid rumors she's reconciled with Brad Pitt, despite a ridiculous report. The actress's trip overseas has absolutely nothing to do with her ex-husband. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus story.
The actress is currently in Portofino shooting the Netflix comedy Murder Mystery with Adam Sandler. That's where the story about Aniston being in Italy begins and ends. Celebrity Insider, however, is arbitrarily connecting her time overseas to Pitt.
Despite the actress being in Italy for work purposes, the blog falsely claims she traveled overseas "to escape the rumors" she's getting back together with her ex-husband. The website then cites last week's In Touch report about Aniston and Pitt getting married again, an absurd claim that Gossip Cop already debunked.
Reps for both Aniston and Pitt told us last week that they haven't rekindled their relationship. Reputable outlets such as People have backed this up, with the magazine recently noting that Aniston is "happily single" and focused on work. Nothing about the actress's time in Italy is related to Pitt in any way, shape, or form, but Celebrity Insider is trying to force a narrative that simply doesn't exist.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time an outlet has tried to make a connection between Aniston's new movie and ex-husband. Last week, Gossip Cop busted New Idea for falsely claiming that Aniston was spotted wearing Pitt's engagement ring on the set of Murder Mystery. In reality, the ring worn by the actress was simply a prop for the movie, in which Sandler plays her husband.
It seems that the gossip media will find any possible excuse to come up with a story about Pitt and Aniston, despite the exes not having seen each other in years. Additionally, the actress has been busy shooting her movie since mid-June. Prior to arriving in Italy, Aniston had been in Montreal working on the film. When exactly did she find the time to marry Pitt? The actor himself is currently busy shooting Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in Los Angeles.
This ongoing narrative about the spouses having reconciled is just absurd. Trusted celebrity news outlets such as People have confirmed that Pitt and Aniston "haven't seen each other in ages." It should be noted, outlets such as the Daily Mail, PopSugar and Just Jared also reported about the actress being in Portofino, but not one of them mentioned Pitt in their articles. The reason being that Aniston's ex-husband has absolutely nothing to do with her shooting a movie in Italy.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
