One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Aniston broke down in tears after an "awkward" run-in with Brad Pitt at a restaurant. The story is completely fabricated. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.
According to Woman's Day Australia, the actress was "visibly distressed as she left a Hollywood bistro last week" and it's because she had an unexpected encounter with her ex-husband. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Jennifer was in the middle of her meal when she looked up and saw Brad on the other side of the restaurant. It came as a complete surprise and her mood instantly switched from cool and calm to anxious and upset."
The outlet's supposed source continues, "Instead of going over and greeting him, Jen decided it would be best to make a beeline for the door. She clearly couldn't face the emotion of seeing Brad so made her excuses and bolted."
The tabloid further contends that Aniston's friends wrapped their arms around her while ushering her out of the restaurant and into her limo, where she "looked teary-eyed and broken in the back seat." The questionable tipster adds, "It was a tough night for Jen, but she handled it with bravery and dignity. It takes a lot to rattle her like this, for sure."
The unreliable outlet fails to mention exactly when and where this incident occurred. Shouldn't the "source" know the name of the restaurant where this all went down? Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with rep qualified to speak on Aniston's behalf, who tells us on the record that "there was no run-in" between her and Pitt.
It should also be mentioned, the publication attempts to back up its story with a paparazzi photo of Aniston looking down while sitting in the backseat of a chauffeured car. There's no indication she's "in tears," despite the magazine's claim otherwise. Still, Gossip Cop showed the image to Aniston's spokesperson, who tells us, "She is not crying. She is looking at her phone in the photo."
Woman's Day Australia is the same tabloid that Gossip Cop busted in April for falsely claiming that Aniston was pregnant with Pitt's baby. We also called out the magazine in July for alleging that Pitt and Aniston married again in secret over the summer. This latest phony article makes no mention of either of those ridiculous premises. That's because they're made-up, much like Aniston and Pitt's imaginary run-in at a "Hollywood bistro." The untrustworthy tabloid seems to come up with new storylines on a whim.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
