Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are not planning to have an Oscars date, nor are they getting revenge on Angelina Jolie. These false allegations come from an Australian tabloid, but are now spreading online. Gossip Cop can bust the claims.
The latest cover of New Idea purports to have the "news the world's been waiting for" and promises to divulge "every official detail." It even features the quote, "We're In Love Again!" And the headline inside the issue declares, "Brad & Jen's Big Announcement: It's Official!" But Aniston and Pitt never made any statement about being "in love again," and nothing about this cover story is "official." On the contrary, it's actually all made-up. There is no "announcement."
The gossip magazine wants readers to believe Aniston and Pitt are in a renewed romance and "preparing to take their relationship public." It's specifically alleged "Brad's camp are officially confirming reports of a reconciliation with Jen," but that's largely a lie. The outlet misleadingly points to a March 2017 Gossip Cop story, in which a Pitt source told us that he and Aniston had "connected" and were "in touch" with "friendly communications." But nothing was ever confirmed about a romantic reconciliation because there wasn't one.
After distorting our reporting from nearly a year ago to make it seem like there's been a recent rekindling between Aniston and Pitt, the publication claims that the pair is ready to reclaim the spotlight, "with insiders tipping the former couple will choose the Oscars for their big reveal." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Being seen together at the Oscars will make a big, big statement." It's further alleged the actress plans to "dish all the details to her pal Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show." Well, Aniston was just on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last week and she didn't utter a word about Pitt.
Still, The Inquisitr picked up and regurgitated the tabloid's story, alleging on its website that even though Aniston is married to Justin Theroux, she and Brad Pitt are "ready to take their renewed relationship to the next level by going public and getting the 'last laugh' on Angelina Jolie." Referring to the Aussie magazine, the blog asserts "insiders told the publication that Aniston will experience some satisfaction in getting revenge on Jolie by showing up at the Oscars with Pitt."
Gossip Cop is calling it right now: Pitt and Aniston will not be having a "date" at the Academy Awards. They are not "going public" with a "renewed relationship." And they are not "in love again." Speaking on the condition of anonymity, sources tell Gossip Cop that any stories linking Aniston romantically to Pitt are nothing more than fan-fiction. They are not preparing for a public reunion. And when the Oscars take place in less than a month, Gossip Cop will undoubtedly be once again proven right.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
