Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt may have married again in secret, according to a completely wrong tabloid story. Gossip Cop can bust this untrue report. It hinges largely on a ring that Aniston is wearing for a movie, not because she and her ex-husband have walked down the aisle again.
Woman's Day Australia writes in its latest issue, "Jennifer Aniston is flaunting a mystery ring on her wedding finger — and friends are sensationally buzzing that she and Brad Pitt may have secretly tied the knot again." The magazine claims that Aniston has "yet to confirm the ring's exact significance or meaning," but asserts "that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from going into overdrive." Of course, the outlet doesn't acknowledge that it is now fueling the "rumor mill" with this article, and being just as sensational as those supposed "friends."
"There's mounting talk Jen and Brad may have gotten hitched in secret and this is her wedding ring," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying. This untraceable source goes on, "She's being very coy about it all, but word is she and Brad are very much in love again, and they decided to do something utterly romantic and elope." But this "insider" can't really be on the "inside" if he or she doesn't have any firsthand knowledge, and is instead relying on "mounting talk" and what the "word is."
The publication goes on to contend the former spouses were "free to forge ahead with a quickie ceremony" because Aniston and Justin Theroux may not have been legally married, while Pitt is "believed to have finalized divorce and custody terms" with Angelina Jolie. Yet the untraceable snitch then suggests the exes may have not officially remarried after all, and may have only had a "spiritual and non-legally binding ceremony." Still, the alleged "insider" asserts, "If they've gone and gotten married... it wouldn't come as the biggest shock in the world to those who know them both."
Actually, it would come as a tremendous shock, given that the stars haven't rekindled any kind of a relationship. Not only has Gossip Cop reported this all year long, but as recently as this month E! Online again confirmed that while Aniston is moving on from Theroux, she is not doing so with Pitt by her side. And when In Touch tried to dupe readers last week into thinking Aniston and Pitt were just "married again," her spokesperson deemed such claims "made-up."
Pitt's own rep further told Gossip Cop the allegations were "totally ridiculous" and "false." He couldn't even say "I do" again if he wanted, legally speaking. Contrary to the claim above, his divorce is not finalized, and the current custody agreement between Jolie and Pitt is only for the summer. They are due back in court next month.
As for Aniston's "mystery ring," this isn't a mystery at all. As soon as pictures of the actress wearing the bauble emerged online, numerous publications reported right away that the "wedding ring" was fake and only a prop for her latest film, Murder Mystery. As Netflix explained in a press release last month, Aniston plays Adam Sandler's wife in the movie, making it entirely expected that she would be wearing such a ring for her character.
Conclusion: The tabloid claims Aniston and Pitt may be married because she was seen wearing a ring. But it has already been established that the ring for the production of a Netflix movie. Their individual spokespeople have also repeatedly shot down reconciliation rumors, as have other reputable outlets. All of this was known last week, but Woman's Day has opted to give readers fiction instead of the facts. That was also the case earlier this month, when the magazine falsely maintained Aniston and Pitt had a secret reunion in Paris.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
