Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt did not get married at her 50th birthday party earlier this month, despite an absurd tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. We’re assured it’s completely fabricated.
According to New Idea, Aniston’s 50th birthday bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood doubled as a secret wedding ceremony for her and Pitt. The unreliable outlet claims the ex-spouses “shocked guests” by tying the knot in the middle of the celebration. The magazine further contends the pair knew they could never organize a wedding without the plans being leaked, so they decided to use Aniston’s birthday “to make a publication declaration of their recommitment.”
An alleged insider tells the tabloid, “They decided to tie the two events together because they didn’t want it getting out beforehand. Telling their guests that they were celebrating Jen’s birthday was the perfect front, and no one suspected a thing until halfway through the party when a celebrant made the big announcement.”
The supposed source goes on to assert Aniston told a few of her closest friends about the surprise wedding beforehand, “but everyone else was in the dark,” adding, “It explains why there were so many A-listers there.” Actually, Aniston turning 50 and having a slew of famous friends explains why there were so many A-listers there. The seemingly phony tipster concludes that everyone at the party “was crying” when Pitt and Aniston exchanged vows.
There are many issues with this bogus story, the first of course being that Pitt’s still technically married to Angelina Jolie. Meanwhile, several reliable outlets have already reported on what really happened between Pitt and Aniston at her birthday party, and it certainly wasn’t a marriage.
People magazine, for example, noted Aniston “didn’t really pay any special attention” to Pitt. The outlet reported the exes chatted for a bit, “but Jen was busy making sure all of her other guests had an amazing time.” “Entertainment Tonight” similarly reported Pitt and Aniston “didn’t have much interaction” at the birthday party, but he came to support her and left before the event ended. And E! News explained how Pitt and Aniston have remained friendly, so he was happy to show up for her milestone birthday, but “they definitely aren’t dating or on that path.”
Additionally, New Idea‘s ludicrous report is based on claims from an anonymous “source,” but Gossip Cop reached to Aniston’s rep, who tells us on the record the story is “fabricated.” The actress didn’t re-marry her ex-husband at her 50th birthday party. The tale is just the latest in a string of falsehoods from that magazine.
Just a few weeks ago, the tabloid insisted Pitt had “dumped” Aniston for Charlize Theron. Every aspect of that contradictory story was also untrue. And 10 months ago, the same outlet maintained Pitt and Aniston were getting married in Missouri. The publication’s articles are not only fabricated, but they’re also beyond inconsistent.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
