Is Jennifer Aniston jealous of Brad Pitt's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Margaret Qualley? That's the ridiculous claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
An article in the latest issue of New Idea says Aniston believed her relationship with Pitt "was back on solid ground," but she's furious that he's been "flirting" with Qualley on the set of his new film. Complicating matters is that the 23-year-old actress happened to have played Justin Theroux's daughter on "The Leftovers," and according to the magazine, Aniston has been jealous of her for a long time.
An alleged insider tells the publication, "Jen is absolutely livid that Brad is filming with Margaret, and hit the roof when she saw them getting so chummy on set." The supposed source adds, "It wasn't enough that she had to contend with all the rumors of Justin and Margaret's close friendship on 'The Leftovers,' she now has to contend with more whispers about her and Brad."
The questionable tipster goes on to say that Aniston "can't help but feel threatened" by the younger actress, adding, "Jen really wants it to work with Brad and doesn't want him to have any distractions." The suspicious source continues, "She knows that Margaret is everything Brad would find attractive - she's like a young Angelina [Jolie]. And seeing photos of her and Brad flirting on set just made Jen see red. She doesn't want to be paranoid but she just can't help it."
The magazine's bogus premise is predicated on the idea that Pitt and Aniston are back together, which they aren't. Separate spokespeople for both Pitt and Aniston have told Gossip Cop on the record several times that they haven't reunited. Reputable celebrity news outlets like People magazine have similarly reported that Pitt and Aniston "haven't seen each other in ages." And Portia de Rossi, a close friend of Aniston's, recently told Us Weekly she knows "for a fact" that the two "haven't seen each other."
Here's what's really happening. New Idea saw photos of Pitt shooting a scene with Qualley and decided to arbitrarily drag Aniston into the situation. The ex-spouses aren't back together in any capacity and Aniston isn't concerned about any of his co-stars. The tabloid's entire article is based on lies.
It's worth noting, the unreliable outlet has trouble keeping track of its phony narratives. Back in July, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for wrongly reporting that Pitt and Aniston had gotten engaged. This latest article makes no mention of an engagement. That's because the outlet comes up with new angles on a whim.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
