What ever happened to Brad Pitt’s “love child” that had left Jennifer Aniston “devastated”? Exactly one year ago today, a celebrity magazine alleged on its cover that Pitt impregnated a woman he had randomly met, and the news caused his first ex-wife to wonder about their future together. So, where is the baby? As Gossip Cop noted 12 months ago, and it remains to this day, the entire story was nothing more than a lie.

On April 23, 2018, NW insisted Pitt and a nameless woman from L.A. in her “late twenties” were having a baby together. The tabloid, which never fact-checked its claim with the actor’s camp, simply went on the word of what it falsely termed an “insider.” Its anonymous and seemingly fabricated source further contended Aniston was ready to give their “love another shot” at the time, but was left “completely devastated” after finding out Pitt “hooked up” with a woman he picked up an art show, “didn’t use protection,” and was going to become “dad for the seventh time.”

For good measure, the frequently debunked tabloid also asserted Angelina Jolie “100 percent” believed Pitt was having a “love child,” despite the magazine offering no evidence whatsoever of it. Actually, there was nothing to make the publication’s report seem believable. As opposed to the outlet, which offered no proof that the woman in her “late twenties” even existed, a rep for Pitt, speaking on the actor’s behalf, went on the record with Gossip Cop to call the tale untrue.

In addition to the overall premise being wrong, the article was also peppered with a number of other falsehoods, including that Pitt and Aniston were back together, which was why the former “Friends” star was supposedly “devastated” by the news he was going to be a father again. But the two have never rekindled. Also, the publication maintained it was “lucky” the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star and Jolie had already “reached a settlement” in their custody battle, otherwise the Oscar-winning actress would have used the illegitimate baby to deny him any custody of their six kids. To date, Jolie and Pitt are still working on hammering out a custody schedule.

Curiously, in the article about his alleged “love child,” the repeatedly disproven tabloid made no mention of Pitt and Aniston having gotten married in Paris, a claim from the same outlet that Gossip Cop had busted just a month before. And, in the 365 days since it published its cover story about Pitt getting a “secret lover” pregnant with his “love child,” the magazine hasn’t become any more dependable or accurate. Among its misfires was a piece six months ago that wrongly insisted Pitt and Jennifer Garner were dating. That was followed by an equally phony report that Gossip Cop corrected about Aniston dating Leonardo DiCaprio after being introduced by Pitt.

Basically, it appears NW makes up stories about Pitt and Aniston with little regard for the truth or reality. Nor does it update its bogus tales after they’ve shown to be off-base. That’s why Gossip Cop occasionally revisits reports from a year before. We not only want to point out for readers which articles haven’t held up over time, but also help them decide which outlets they can and cannot trust for reliable information about certain celebrities.
