Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have been hiding out at his beach house in Santa Barbara, California when they're not working? That's the premise of an article in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can correct the phony story.
According to Woman's Day, the ex-spouses have rekindled their romance and are using his ocean villa as their "secret weekend getaway." An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Ever since Brad made the grand gesture of appearing at Jen's 50th birthday bash in February, they've been meeting up on the sly."
The supposed source further contends that Aniston and Pitt had "wanted to go on dates like normal people, which is pretty much impossible when you're the most recognizable people in the world." The questionable tipster also maintains that both found it strange hanging out at each other's houses as there were too many memories with their respective exes, Justin Theroux and Angelina Jolie.
Their solution, according to the publication, was to spend time at his beach house 90 minutes north of Los Angeles. "It's a special spot for him, where he goes to gather his thoughts," says the seemingly nonexistent source. "He spent a lot of lonely days there after he split from Ange, but now he's filling it with happy memories as he reconnects with Jen."
The so-called "insider" adds, "She's there often now when she's not working, and he commutes back and forth between his media commitments for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." The suspicious tipster goes on assert Aniston and Pitt are "making the most of their private little beach bubble, because they both know that sooner rather than later, they'll have to go public with their recoupling."
This entire report is pure tabloid fantasy. Gossip Cop has been assured countless times by reps for both Aniston and Pitt that they're not back together. The actor briefly stopped by his ex-wife's 50th birthday party in February, but they haven't rekindled a romance in any capacity. Although the two remain on friendly terms, the idea that they've been sneaking off to his beach house is absurd. Aniston's spokesperson confirms that this latest scenario is totally made-up.
It's worth noting, Woman's Day frequently concocts bogus storylines involving the exes. Almost a year ago to the day, Gossip Cop busted the same outlet for falsely claiming Aniston and Pitt had secretly gotten married again. That didn't happen, and this latest article makes no mention of the exes tying the knot for a second time.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop called out the magazine when it wrongly insisted Aniston was pregnant with Pitt's baby. That clearly wasn't the case. It also bears mentioning how the tabloid alleged last month that Aniston was dating her Murder Mystery co-star Danny Boon. That story wasn't true either. Naturally, the latest tale involving Pitt makes no reference to that inaccurate report, and that's because these various narratives are fabricated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
