Is Jennifer Aniston getting "dumped" by Brad Pitt for an "Angelina Jolie lookalike"? That's what one of the tabloids wants readers to believe. But this untrue story is based on two false premises. Allow Gossip Cop to explain what's really going on.
For the last few months, NW has been claiming former spouses Aniston and Pitt are back together. But now that he has been linked to Neri Oxman, the gossip magazine is alleging Aniston believes history is repeating itself with Pitt again leaving her for another woman. Contends the outlet, "Amid numerous reports that she and Brad have rebooted their relationship and are even discussing exchanging wedding vows again, Jen's once again left fearing she'll be cast aside for another woman. And in a double blow, Brad's new beauty is a total Ange lookalike."
"Jennifer is absolutely heartbroken. She can't believe this is happening... The last thing she expected was to end up feeling like this again," a so-called "insider" claims to the publication, which alleges Aniston is "convinced that her second shot at a fairy tale ending" with Pitt is now "over" thanks to Oxman. The supposed source goes on to purport that Aniston "decided to... confront Brad about what's going on with" the architect, but he "swears that he and Neri are just friends and that he's still committed to making things work with her."
Despite that, the tabloid asserts that Aniston "can't shake the niggling feeling that it's only a matter of time before Neri falls for Brad if they continue spending time together." The questionable snitch adds, "Jen's hurt that Brad didn't even mention Neri to her. That's what makes her worried that something could develop between them... She can't believe she's back in this position, crying over Brad as he grows close to another woman."
Aniston herself is even quoted as exclaiming, "I can't believe it's happening again." That statement, however, is totally fake, as is everything else in this fabricated article. As Gossip Cop noted at the outset, there are two false premises at play here. The first is that the former couple has gotten back together, which reps for the exes have repeatedly confirmed to Gossip Cop is untrue. People even explained back in February why an Aniston-Pitt reunion is unlikely, stressing that the pair haven't even seen one another in "ages."
The second false premise is that there's a romance getting underway between Pitt and Oxman. That is also not true. As originally reported by Page Six, Pitt and the MIT professor have a professional dynamic between them. And on top of that, "Entertainment Tonight" recently reported that in the wake of Pitt's split from Jolie, he still isn't "ready to get serious with anyone." That knocks out the notion that he's involved with Aniston or Oxman.
It really only takes a little figurative math to realize this report is entirely bogus: Aniston and Pitt haven't gotten back together, according to their camps and reputable outlets, so it makes no sense to claim she's concerned about being "dumped" for an "Ange lookalike." And nothing is currently going on between Pitt and Oxman, his spokesperson has confirmed, so there's no reason for any "fears" regardless.
Gossip Cop would be remiss not to also point out that less than a month ago, this same magazine tried to dupe readers into thinking Aniston and Pitt were recently "married in Paris," something that isn't even mentioned in this new tale. That cover story was a work of fiction, and it's evident that this latest article is too.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
