One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have been on two dates since reuniting at her 50th birthday party last month. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can confirm that the ex-spouses aren't rekindling a romance.
According to Life & Style, the exes "have been in constant communication" since reconnecting at her party. The magazine says Aniston and Pitt's first date was a lunch at Sony Studios, where they met to "discuss movie projects." Gossip Cop, however, already debunked the claim that Aniston and Pitt met up on the Sony lot when it first emerged last week. Separate reps for both stars told us on the record that they never got together at the movie studio, nor are they planning to work together.
Still, an alleged insider tells the outlet that the exes' "second date" was a dinner at a restaurant in Malibu. The unreliable tabloid doesn't bother to mention the name of the restaurant where the meal took place or when it occurred. It's also worth noting, both stars are constantly followed by the paparazzi, but there are zero photographs of the two meeting up for dinner in Malibu. The publication uses a poorly photoshopped image on its cover to make it seem as if the ex-spouses were spotted taking a stroll together, but the picture is fake.
The supposed source continues the fictional narrative by adding, "After dinner, they went on a short walk, undetected by prying eyes. That's when they kissed. It wasn't a make-out session, just a nice tender kiss." The seemingly phony tipster goes on to say that Aniston "isn't running back into Brad's arms" just yet as she still "has a lot of emotional baggage to unpack" over him leaving her for Angelina Jolie.
"Brad's not blind to the fact that he hurt Jen before, that's why he's moving at her pace," adds the suspicious source. "Jen is in control this time around and Brad's totally fine with that." The so-called "insider" concludes, "They're taking it very slow, but Brad and Jen agree that they like where they're headed."
The tabloid's report is completely made-up. Gossip Cop checked in with Aniston's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's entirely untrue. Despite what the magazine's anonymous "source" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actress's behalf assures us she hasn't been on any dates with her ex-husband.
Life & Style has already proven to have zero insight into Pitt's relationship with his exes. Back in 2017, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming he was getting back together with Jolie. That obviously hasn't happened. And just two months ago, we called out the magazine for making up a story about Aniston and Charlize Theron fighting over Pitt. There was never any sort of love triangle. This latest article is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
