A new story detailing how Jennifer Aniston was “mentally prepared” for a run-in with Angelina Jolie at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards is entirely made-up. The article was written to capitalize on both actresses being at the same event. Gossip Cop can expose this piece of fiction.

One of the most buzzed-about topics from Sunday night’s awards ceremony was that both of Brad Pitt’s exes were in the same room together, a rare occurrence that last happened at the Critics’ Choice Awards in 2015. HollywoodLife is now pretending to “exclusively” know Aniston’s mindset heading into the event. The site quotes an alleged “source” as saying, “Jen knew in advance that Angelina would be attending the Globes, so she was already prepared mentally to see her.”

The outlet’s nonexistent insider adds, “Thankfully, even though they were both presenting at the awards show and attended the same after party, they managed to keep their distance from each other.” Gossip Cop, however, is assured that no one in Aniston’s inner circle spoke to HollywoodLife about her being “mentally prepared” to see Jolie. This is more fan fiction being sold as journalism.

Also, a run-in with Jolie isn’t something Aniston would need to be “mentally prepared” for in the first place. The actress has explained in the past that both of them have moved on, despite the media’s inability to do so. In fact, Aniston dismissed the rumors she has a rivalry with Jolie in a 2015 interview with “Entertainment Tonight.”

The actress went on to praise Jolie’s WWII film Unbroken, saying, “That movie is so beautiful and wonderful and she did such a gorgeous job. I think that it’s time people stop with that petty B.S. and just start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness.” Unfortunately, HollywoodLife hasn’t stopped “the petty kind of silliness.”

Prior to Sunday’s Golden Globes, Gossip Cop called out the webloid for making up a story about Jolie “refusing to shy away” from an encounter with Aniston. Now that the awards show has passed, the site has concocted an equally bogus article from Aniston’s perspective. The webloid’s latest narrative surrounding the actresses is equally fabricated.
