As Gossip Cop reported, the “Vanderpump Rules” star was arrested for shoplifting in Hawaii last July, and it was all caught on camera. Surveillance video captured Taylor at a Sunglasses Hut in Honolulu. He was filmed trying on sunglasses, before leaving with a pair without paying.

Taylor returned to the store a short time later, at which point he was arrested. He was later charged with felony theft, as the sunglasses apparently cost more than $300. As Gossip Cop noted, Taylor was in the vacation hot spot at the time for a trip with his Bravo co-stars.

Now more than six months later, Taylor appeared in a Honolulu court room on Wednesday, and accepted a plea deal for second-degree theft. The agreement requires the reality star to pay $350 to Sunglasses Hut, $1,150 for a fine and court fees, plus another $105 to a crime compensation fund. He will be on probation for nearly a year, 364 days to be exact, after which the conviction will be wiped from his record, provided he stays out of trouble.

During the hearing, Taylor blamed his actions on alcohol, but also expressed remorse. “I just want to apologize to the court, to the state. I had too many drinks, too many mai tais,” he said to the judge. “I made a mistake, took full responsibility, and I understand this is going to follow me the rest of my life due to the fact that I’m on television. So, I just want to say I’m sorry and I apologize.”

Taylor hasn’t otherwise commented on his plea deal, but tellingly posted on Twitter afterward, “#RedEye back to #LAX bye #Hawaii be back soon! Probably a different island though.” He previously spoke about the arrest on “Watch What Happens Live” last month, admitting he was drunk and didn’t pay for the sunglasses, even though he easily could have afforded them.
