Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri are not trying to have a baby together, nor are they planning to marry, despite an entirely off-base report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim, which was printed in one of this week's tabloids. We're assured they are not even dating.
In a piece title, "Janet & Jermaine: Trying For Baby," OK! maintains that after waiting 50 years to have a baby, Jackson is "not done yet." Last January, Jackson welcomed a son named Eissa with her now estranged husband Wissam Al Mana. And now the tabloid contends, "She already trying for baby no. 2 with on-again beau Jermaine."
Not leaving bad enough alone, the tabloid quotes a misinformed or possibly made-up "source" as saying that Dupri and Jackson, who broke up in 2009, "picked up exactly where they left off" when they allegedly rekindled last month. "They want to make up for lost time and their priority is starting a family together," adds the magazine's purported "insider." Although Jackson is 51, the outlet's tipster asserts she's not concerned about her age because, following her recently wrapped tour, the performer's in "amazing shape and confident she'll be able to conceive again."
Unwilling to abandon its completely inaccurate report, the publication says nothing will deter the purported couple from having a baby together. The phony "source" continues, "Whether it's IVF or a donor egg, they'll do anything to make their baby dreams come true." The supposed "insider" further says that while they may have to wait until Jackson's divorce from Al Mana is complete to marry, Jackson "hopes to be pregnant by summer."
With the exception of a few things, including the spellings of their names and that Jackson is divorcing Al Mana, the tabloid's article is filled with one falsehood after another. For starters, while they recently met up when she ended her "State of the World" tour in Atlanta, Jackson and Dupri are not romantically involved. And they are most certainly not having a baby together. A source close to Jackson exclusively assures Gossip Cop the tabloid's tale is 100 percent "untrue."
We're not entirely shocked by how mistaken the magazine is with its latest report. In October, Gossip Cop busted OK! when it wrongly reported Jackson's post-baby weight loss was due to plastic surgery. At the time, the outlet questioned how the singer looked "trim just 10 months [after giving birth]," and quoted yet another highly suspect "insider" speculating that Jackson got a "mommy makeover," which seemingly included a "tummy tuck and liposuction." But it was all lies, just like the current article about Jackson and Dupri having a baby and planning to marry.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
