Jamie Foxx keeps trying to hook up with Katie Holmes, even after their split? That's the outrageous claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony rumor.
OK! alleges that Foxx has been sending sly messages to Holmes, trying to set up midnight get-togethers. "He's sent several flirty texts basically seeing if she's down to hook up again on a lonely night," a supposed source tells the magazine. "He has this delusional arrogance that he can snap his fingers and she'll come running at the drop of a hat. It may have worked in the past, but she's wised up."
Holmes, according to the tabloid, sees the relationship as "irreparable" after the breakup. "She decided to make a clean break, no backward glances," adds the tipster. The only responses she supposedly sends to Foxx, the insider alleges, are reminders that the relationship is over and he needs to move on. "Katie's holding steady this time and finds his calls insulting," the anonymous insider continues. "So far, he seems to be taking her rejection simply as a challenge — but she figures he'll get tired of the chase eventually."
Gossip Cop checked with Holmes' rep, who tells us the story is simply not true. It's just another attempt by the tabloids to drum up false drama about Foxx and Holmes' unconventional relationship and split. The two never publicly confirmed or denied their romance or their breakup, which has inspired a fairly large amount of speculation by the gossip media. In fact, we've debunked plethora of articles involving how Holmes has been coping with her split from Foxx,, ranging from allegations of plastic surgery to starvation diets.
OK! has proved itself to be thoroughly unreliable when it comes to factual reporting about Holmes and Foxx. At the end of August, the tabloid wrongly reported Holmes was opening up about her "side of the story" regarding her past relationships with both Foxx and Tom Cruise, despite not having any information or quotes from Holmes herself.
Gossip Cop also busted the outlet in May for a phony piece about Holmes and Foxx getting married and having a baby after a rough patch. This came just weeks after the outlet tried to push another story about Holmes and Foxx planning a wedding. The tabloid has no idea what's going on in either star's personal life, whether it be before or after their split.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
