Jamie Foxx was reportedly attacked at a star-studded Los Angeles restaurant on Saturday. See video below.

It’s said Foxx was at the popular West Hollywood hotspot Catch when the incident went down. He was reportedly with pals on the establishment’s patio, when a man approached and lashed out at the group for allegedly being too noisy. “You don’t want to mess with me. I’m from New York,” he’s quoted as saying.

When a comedian friend of Foxx’s supposedly responded with “F*ck you I’m from Oakland,” the intruder “lunged” at Foxx, according to TMZ. The outlet cites a witness as saying the assailant managed to pull the actor down onto a table, but Foxx overpowered him with a choke hold.

The unnamed attacker and, it seems, Foxx’s group were all then forced to leave the venue. A number of celebrities are typically at Catch on any given night, and this evening was apparently no exception. The site claims the altercation was witnessed by the likes of Michael Bay and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Gossip Cop has reached out to Catch for comment on the reported events. A spokesperson for Foxx declined to comment. Almost exactly a year ago, the star made headlines for a far different reason. In January 2016, Foxx helped save a man from a burning car. See footage of the alleged brawl below.

UPDATE: Foxx posted a video joking about the situation, and wrote on Twitter, “Gotta set the record straight. Can’t we all just get along? #backonmyfunnysh*t #sleepless this Friday the 13th!” He added, “We are just having fun!” Watch below. NOTE: The videos are no longer available.
