Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are NOT being blamed for the so-called "failure" of Fifty Shades Darker, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can bust this claim. We're told it's "false."
According to the notoriously unreliable Celeb Dirty Laundry, Dornan and Johnson are "already being blamed" for the "failure" of Fifty Shades Darker, even before its official release. Without any sources or legitimate evidence, the often disproven site claims, "It's expected to only make about $35 million to $40 million dollars during its opening weekend" which is "significantly less than the $85 million dollars that Fifty Shades of Grey made back in 2015." The repeatedly discredited webloid further contends, "Jamie is desperate to move on to bigger and better projects in Hollywood," as both actors' supposed refusal to promote the film is expected to damage its performance at the box office.
Let Gossip Cop set the record straight. A source close to Dornan assures us the report is completely "false," as neither actor is being blamed for the film's so-called "failure," nor are they refusing to promote the movie. In fact, both Dornan and Johnson are currently on their press tour, as Dornan recently made an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," while Johnson appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon. Clearly, the website has created yet another fake news story.
Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time Gossip Cop has busted the bad blog for its stories surrounding Fifty Shades Darker. Only days ago, we debunked CDL for falsely alleging Johnson wasn't impressed with Dornan's performance during their sex scenes for the film. And shortly before that tall-tale, we corrected the outlet for wrongly claiming Dornan and Johnson were refusing to promote the movie, even though the pair were gearing up to to begin their press tour. Much like those inaccurate claims, this latest one is equally untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
