James Woods made a crack about Anderson Cooper using a “butt plug.” The homophobic swipe was in response to Cooper’s now-viral eye roll. See the screengrab below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Cooper was interviewing Kellyanne Conway via satellite on CNN earlier this week when she made a bragging comment about Donald Trump winning in Michigan. As he listened, the “Anderson Cooper 360” host rolled his eyes. Over the last few days, clips of the moment, as well as gifs, have flooded social media.

Most were amused by Cooper’s reaction, but not Woods. Instead, he used the gif to make a comment about the openly gay journalist’s sex life. “As his butt plug dislodges during a newscast… #andersoncoopereyeroll,” the conservative actor cracked. And he was apparently so proud of his dig that he later retweeted it. Cooper has not responded to the off-color remark.

As noted earlier Friday, “The View” co-hosts also debated Cooper’s eye roll, but in a far different manner. Some have accused the veteran journalist’s dismissive behavior towards Conway as sexist. The panelists largely agreed that this was not an example of sexism, but conservative panelist Jedediah Bila argued that the left would’ve been quick to call it that had a liberal been the victim, as opposed to the right-leaning Conway.

But far from having a remotely homophobic conversation, Hasan Minhaj, who is straight and married, was secure enough while as a guest co-host on “The View” to compliment Cooper’s looks, particularly his eyes. As for Woods, he’s no stranger to provoking controversy on Twitter. In fact, in 2015, Woods actually sued a fellow Twitter user for $10 million over a “cocaine addict” tweet. And even though the man who made the allegation is now deceased, the star is still pursuing his lawsuit. See the screengrab of Woods’ tweet about Cooper below.
