One of this week's tabloids claims Isla Fisher dyed her hair blonde and underwent plastic surgery in an effort to look like Khloe Kardashian. The story is completely ridiculous. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
On New Year's Eve, Fisher posted an Instagram photo of herself with long blonde hair and a spray tan, along with the caption, "Go blonde in '19 or go home." According to Star, the famous redhead based her new look on Kardashian. A supposed source tells the magazine, "It's a very odd choice for a 43-year-old mother of three. She's saying all she did was bleach her hair, but anyone can see she's had work done too."
The outlet's alleged insider continues, "The word is that she's been inspired by Khloe Kardashian and other plastic types. Maybe it's a midlife crisis? Everyone needs a little attention, and Isla definitely got it - but not in a good way." The questionable tipster concludes, "No matter what you think of them, the Kardashians are glamorous and magnetic. You can't blame women for being drawn to that look!"
One major issue with the tabloid's phony article is that Fisher didn't actually bleach her signature red locks. Gossip Cop ran the story by the actress's spokesperson, who tells us, "Isla did not dye her hair, nor did she have plastic surgery to look like a Kardashian. The photo she posted was a wig." Despite what the magazine's anonymous and untraceable tipster says, a rep qualified to speak on the actress's behalf confirms the report is false.
It's worth noting, other outlets had already speculated Fisher didn't actually dye her hair. An article posted on the "Today" show's website noted that the actress's blonde mane appeared to be "a very convincing wig." The New York Post similarly wrote, "It seems likely that [Fisher's] freshly dyed hair is actually just a very convincing wig." Less than a week after her social media post, Fisher went back to her usual look for the Golden Globes.
Considering that the publication's "source" wasn't aware Fisher's blonde hair was just a wig, it's hard to believe a single aspect of the report. Meanwhile, Star has been known to make up phony stories surrounding Kardashian's cosmetic procedures. In 2017, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Kardashian was getting lip injections during her pregnancy. The reality star didn't undergo any plastic surgery while she was expecting. This latest article is more fiction from the unreliable outlet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
