Idina Menzel performed the National Anthem at the 2015 Super Bowl on Sunday. Watch below!

The Tony winner took the field at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona shortly before the Super Bowl XLIX kick off with the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning champions, taking on the New England Patriots. Menzel followed in the footsteps of last year’s “Star-Spangled Banner” performer, Renee Fleming, and is now part of an elite group of stars that also includes Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood.

Menzel’s last high-profile television performance came last month, when she sang her Frozen hit “Let It Go” during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Menzel came under fire for missing the song’s climatic high note. In response to the backlash, the actress-singer shared an answer she once gave in an interview, noting, “There are about 3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I’m hitting 75 percent of them, I’m succeeding.”

She further explained, “Performing isn’t only about the acrobatics and the high notes. It’s staying in the moment, connecting with the audience in an authentic way, and making yourself real to them through the music. I am more than the notes I hit, and that’s how I try to approach my life.” There was seemingly nothing to criticize about her Super Bowl performance, and now with the pressure off, Menzel can look ahead to a possible new TV show. It was just reported last week that she is attached to a comedy project called “Happy Time,” set to be produced by Ellen DeGeneres.
