Hurricane Telethon Performances

Blake Shelton, Demi Lovato and more stars performed during the “Hand In Hand” telethon for hurricane relief on Tuesday. The musical performances were spaced out between calls for donations and stories of inspiration and devastation. Check out the videos below.

The telethon simultaneously took place in Nashville, San Antonio, New York City and Los Angeles with dozens of celebrities at each location. Stevie Wonder kicked off the hour-long broadcast with “Lean On Me,” backed by a gospel choir. Prior to singing, he made pointed comments about global warming, even saying that non-believers are out of their minds. As he sang, fellow stars could be seen swaying along as they sat to answer phone calls from donors.

Shelton teamed up with Usher, whom he worked with on “The Voice,” for a duet performance of “Stand By Me.” They involved the audience at their Nashville concert hall to sing along. Following a prayer from Justin Bieber that ended with the expression “hallelujah,” Tori Kelly began singing the classic song of the same name. She was joined by Bieber’s “Despacito” collaborator, Luis Fonsi, who sang in Spanish. Shortly after, Demi Lovato, Darius Rucker and Brad Paisley did a group performance of “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

They were later followed by George Strait, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, among others, who also gave a joint performance. A number of other music artists also took part in the special, including Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Hilary Duff and Kelly Rowland. Beyonce, Will Smith and Selena Gomez were among those who contributed taped video messages. Check out the performance videos below.
