Is Hugh Jackman really planning to quit the gym and get fat now that he's done playing Wolverine? That's the ridiculous claim in one of the new tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, has exclusively learned otherwise.
2017's Logan marked Jackman's last time playing the X-Men character, and now according to the National Enquirer, the actor is ecstatic to quit all of the workouts required for the superhero role. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "After 17 years of hard labor, Hugh says he can finally let himself go. He's happy to have the body of a mere mortal."
The outlet's questionable insider adds, "Hugh groused it was pure torture staying in that kind of ridiculously perfect shape for so long, complaining it was far too much effort for what it's worth to stay ripped all the time." The supposed source goes on to say that Jackman's wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, also agrees "they'll both be happier now that Hugh's spending far less time at the gym."
Although Jackman is done playing Wolverine, he's still a leading man and a movie star, so the tabloid's assertion that he hopes to get flabby doesn't make sense. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for the actor, who laughed off the magazine's story before exclusively assuring us it's not true.
In fact, it seems the outlet was inspired to concoct this bogus article because Jackman recently revealed that he keeps cheating on his diet. The actor posted Instagram photos of himself eating pizza and fast food, then explained that his "New Year's detox plan" isn't going so well. But Jackman still spends plenty of time in the gym, so he can afford to indulge in some cheat meals. The actor happens to share many Instagram photos of his workouts as well. Regardless, Gossip Cop can confirm that The Greatest Showman star isn't on a mission to get fat.
Also, the Enquirer is hardly a reliable source when it comes to getting accurate news about Jackman. Gossip Cop has previously called out the magazine for falsely claiming that the actor and his wife of more than 20 years were headed for a split. Meanwhile, Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid's sister outlet, RadarOnline, for making up a story about Jackman "flipping out" after losing a Golden Globe to James Franco. This latest article about the actor's goal to let himself go is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
