One of the tabloids claims Hugh Jackman's friends are worried about his health and fear he's losing an alarming amount of weight. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

According to Woman's Day Australia, the actor has been looking "gaunt" and "sickly thin" amid the concert tour for his new one-man show, Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show. A supposed source tells the magazine, "He looks like a bag of bones right now. His cheeks are sunken and the clothes are falling off him, but instead of resting up and relaxing he's going full pelt and it's only going to get worse."

The alleged insider goes on to say that Jackman's loved ones believe he's "putting his health at risk" due to his strenuous schedule of traveling the globe and taking the stage each night. "The fear is if he doesn't start taking better care of himself he could collapse, or wind up putting himself in a precarious position at the very least," adds the suspicious tipster.

Nothing about the tabloid's story is remotely true. Less than a week ago, Jackman shared an Instagram video of himself pumping weights in preparation for one of his shows. It's clear in the footage that the actor is still incredibly buff, despite the magazine's bogus assertion that he's scarily thin. The video shows Jackman doing lunges while curling iron, showing off both his toned legs and bulging biceps in the process.

In another video that Jackman posted to Instagram, the actor starts doing pushups in the middle of one of his concerts. The idea that he's in poor health and headed for a "collapse" is baseless. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for the actor, who tells us the outlet's report is "utterly ridiculous." Jackman's friends aren't concerned about his physical well-being, nor do they believe he's having any issues with his weight or health.

It's worth noting, this isn't the first time that Gossip Cop has had to debunk a phony story surrounding the actor's physical appearance. Last year, we busted a tabloid for falsely claiming Jackman planned on quitting the gym and getting fat now that he's done playing Wolverine.

Jackman's world tour kicked off earlier this month and will continue through the end of October. If the movie star were truly in poor health, it would be impossible for him to pull off the feat, but the concert has been an incredible success so far. There's simply no truth to the notion that he's falling apart.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
