After months of posting made-up engagement stories, HollywoodLife is now flip-flopping on the status of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s relationship, claiming the couple is not rushing to get married. Gossip Cop can expose the website’s lies.
As Gossip Cop previously noted, the often disproven outlet has repeatedly insisted Prince Harry and Markle were engaged. Just this month, the site published a story with the headline, “Harry Proposed to Meghan Markle In Africa With $1 Million Heirloom Ring.” In early May, the webloid falsely alleged Prince Harry had proposed to his girlfriend and incorrectly related how Markle had even “won over” the Queen. That was followed up a week later with another article titled, “Are Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Already Engaged? 5 Signs That Prove They Might Be.”
Having been caught in its own web of lies over and over, the discredited outlet is now claiming to have the “truth” behind the couple’s purported engagement, backtracking on all of its previous stories. In HollywoodLife’s latest article, a so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Harry and Meghan are not engaged yet,” ironically adding that those who are reporting otherwise are “jumping the gun.” The site’s seemingly fabricated source goes on to contend, “When they do get engaged, Harry will follow royal protocol and an announcement will be made by the palace.”
While ignoring the engagement rumors it created earlier, the outlet’s seemingly highly suspect “source” states,”Harry and Meghan are very much in love, but they both want to make completely sure that they are ready to take the next step before doing so.” “When [Prince Harry] marries, it will be for life, and it’s not something he is going to rush into,” adds the site’s insider, who simply numerates every bride and groom’s desire going into marriage.
But HollywoodLies, as it’s nicknamed, is really not providing anything new, exclusive, or specific to Prince Harry and Markle. It’s merely concocting obvious quotes while pretending to have reputable sources. Of course, if the site had actual palace insiders, it wouldn’t have published a plethora of untrue tales abut the redheaded royal and his actress girlfriend.
The truth is no one from Buckingham or Kensington palaces is leaking information to HollywoodLies. No real palace insider, for instance, would refer to Prince Harry as just “Harry,” as the website quotes its informant as doing. Notwithstanding all the falsehoods the outlet has already published, Gossip Cop still fact-checked the site’s latest claim and we’re assured the latest article is also “made-up.” Sadly, we’re not surprised since it’s coming from the same blog that Gossip Cop busted when it wrongly reported a full four months ago that Prince Harry and Markle were having a “royal baby.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
