Added to the long list of words HollywoodLife doesn't know, like "fact-checking," apparently is "exclusive." Often, it seems the repeatedly discredited site substitutes that word for "made-up article." In the case of its latest story about Meghan Markle "giving up acting for good to be a royal" because she "loves Prince Harry more," the outlet simply exhibits its blatant disregard for the truth and/or its pathetic reporting skills.
The blog, which sometimes sounds like a fake news site, asserts that Markle is "prepared to give up acting for her soon-to-be husband Prince Harry." It even claims "a source close to" Markle tells it, "Meghan loves acting but she loves Harry and her life now." HollywoodLies, as its rightfully nicknamed, pretends to have a "source" who further maintains Markle "would be OK if she never acted again... She's accepted the fact if her acting days are done then it's completely fine for that part of her life to be behind her."
For a long time, sources at Kensington Palace have assured Gossip Cop that HollywoodLife's stories are fabricated, but this article should drive home that point. On November 27, right after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, they sat down with the BBC for an interview that's been viewed by tens of millions of people. At one point, interviewer Mishal Hussein asked the future royal if she was "giving up [her] career," and she responded, "Yes."
Markle added, "I don't see it as giving up anything," but instead noted the charity work she'll be doing with Prince Harry is "a new chapter." She further explained that once she hit the milestone of 100 episodes with "Suits," she felt it was enough and that she was "proud of the work I've done." Markle discusses this in the 11-minute mark of the interview below.
HollywoodLife has exhibited a pattern of making up fake news about Markle and Prince Harry, all while claiming its stories have come from a "source" close to them. In April, we exposed the outlet for a totally fictitious article about Prince Harry and Markle having a "royal baby on the way." Nearly nine months later, that clearly was a lie.
And in August, Gossip Cop busted the same untrustworthy site when it falsely declared, "Harry Proposed to Meghan Markle In Africa With $1 Million Heirloom Ring." Not only did we report that was untrue, but three months later, it too became abundantly clear that was a lie, as well. Watch the video below, and in about 11 minutes it should become crystal clear the blog has lied again.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
