HollywoodLife Selena Gomez Niall Horan

HollywoodLife is still lying about Selena Gomez and Niall Horan more than a year after falsely claiming the two were dating. Gossip Cop can reveal what’s going on.

In 2015, HollywoodLife ran a bunch of fabricated stories about Gomez and Horan dating. Among the made-up articles were posts about their pair’s supposed chemistry, claims of double dates with Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, and even one piece that contended Gomez told Justin Bieber she wouldn’t be dating Horan if he had “committed” to her first. Gossip Cop exposed the web of lies, as we confirmed Gomez and Horan were never anything but friends. We even busted the site in 2016 when it claimed Gomez and Horan had split after their non-existent romance, and again when the webloid wrongly maintained Horan’s song “This Town” was about Gomez and their failed relationship.

Yet now, despite repeatedly insisting the singers were dating, HollywoodLies has a new “exclusive” about “why they’ll never date.” Huh? The outlet ran story after story in 2015 about Gomez and Horan’s supposed relationship. Now in 2017, the online publication is flip-flopping and asserting “they’ll never get together,” as if it never spread those previous tall tales. The impetus for this latest fake take was Horan recently admitting in an interview that Gomez was his childhood crush.

So naturally, the webloid has manufactured her reaction to the comments. The site quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “Selena really likes Niall but she feels a more brotherly connection towards him as opposed to a romantic one. That’s why nothing has happened between them.” Again, huh? That’s not what HollywoodLies previously claimed. So, is the bad blog lying now or was it lying back then?

The answer is HollywoodLies was lying every time. The fabrication factory made up all of its “exclusive” dating stories, just as it is now making up this contradictory story about the performers not dating. If the outlet actually had legitimate access to either star’s camp, it would’ve had the right information from the start. But no one close to Gomez was talking to the webloid about Horan back then nor was anyone close to Horan talking to the site about Gomez. That’s still the case today. As Gomez herself has said, HollywoodLife is the “worst” and “never true.” It’s just sad that the publication is still lying about them after all this time.
