HollywoodLife is lying. The site, which spreads so many untruths that it’s often called HollywoodLies, is falsely claiming to have “EXCLUSIVELY learned” Khloe Kardashian is having a boy. In actuality, the baby’s gender was publicly revealed two months ago.

But the webloid is now alleging that with Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner “reportedly having girls, ‘KUWTK’ fans were left wondering… would KoKo have a girl?” The site then asserts that the young boys in the famous family are “about to be joined by another little dude, as a source EXCLUSIVELY tells that Khloe and Tristan ‘are having a boy, and they’re super excited about it!'” Yet despite having this purported “source” supposedly supplying information, the outlet doesn’t actually seem convinced, going on to use phrases like, “If that bun in KoKo’s oven is a boy.”

If? Well, it is a boy, and reputable publications reported that back in October. On October 25, Us Weekly announced on its website, “Pregnant Khloe Kardashian Is Expecting a Baby Boy.” That same day, People similarly declared on theirs, “It’ll Be a Boy for Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson.” Dozens of other sites picked up the news, and HollywoodLies itself even stated, “Khloe Kardashian Reportedly Expecting A Baby Boy With Tristan Thompson” (see screengrab below). Now fast-forward to December 23 when HollywoodLies has the nerve to act like the baby’s gender is completely new, previously unknown information and that it scored the “exclusive” news (see screengrab above).

On the contrary, this is fake news. It was very much real when it was first reported by reliable outlets two months ago, but there is nothing legitimately newsworthy about announcing the same information now. Furthermore, the blog actually exposes itself as not just disingenuous but also inaccurate when it speculates that since “an ultrasound can determine a baby’s sex between 18 to 20 weeks… perhaps this means that Khloe is between 4 to 5 months pregnant?” The webloid wonders, “With reports Kylie is due sometime in February, does this mean that Khloe and Tristan will welcome their bundle of joy around May?”

Again, the sex of Kardashian’s baby was known back in October. She did not just find out, contrary to what HollywoodLies is trying to get readers to believe. And she is not currently only four to five months pregnant, nor is she due in May. The reality star is actually roughly six months along and expected to give birth in early 2018. If the site really had a “source,” as it maintains, it would know that. But it seems this faux “exclusive” was completely manufactured. And this isn’t an isolated incident.

Just days ago, HollywoodLies falsely claimed that Meghan Markle “giving up acting” for Prince Harry was an “exclusive.” In actuality, as Gossip Cop pointed out, that was already known information, as the “Suits” star had revealed her plans in her engagement interview weeks prior. Gossip Cop isn’t sure why the blog is taking common knowledge and pretending it’s “exclusive” reporting, except to dupe readers and score clicks. But that is not journalism.
