HollywoodLife is flip-flopping on whether Gwen Stefani is pregnant with twins or merely “trying” to have a baby. This once again proves the unreliable webloid has no idea what it’s talking about.

As Gossip Cop reported, on Wednesday OK! published a fabricated cover story falsely claiming Stefani and Blake Shelton were expecting twins. Within hours of the issue hitting newsstands, a rep for the songstress exclusively told us the claim was “not true,” and we officially busted it. HollywoodLies, however, saw fit to regurgitate the tabloid’s story without bothering to find out if it was even true.

“Is Gwen Stefani Expecting Twins With Blake Shelton? Reportedly Wants Advice From Beyonce,” read the site’s headline. After repeating some of the gossip magazine’s allegations, the webloid asked its readers, “Do YOU think Gwen and Blake are pregnant with twins?” Of course, if HollywoodLies was a real news resource, like it pretends to be, it would’ve fact-checked the tabloid article and found out the answer. Instead it was content to spread the suspect information.

Magically, one day later, the dubious outlet announced it had “EXCLUSIVE details that after finding her ‘soul mate,’ Gwen wants to have a child with Blake Shelton!” Bizarrely, the story was written by the publication’s “sports editor.” In it, a “Stefani glam squad insider” (seriously) was quoted as saying “adding to their family is in the game plan for Gwen and Blake.” This alleged source, if he or she even exists, supposedly went on to say of Stefani, “She’d love more than to have a baby with him,” and while Shelton is “not putting any pressure on her,” “they’re trying.”

But wait. Didn’t HollywoodLies say the day before that Stefani was pregnant with twins? That’s not mentioned anywhere in the second story. And if the webloid really had an “insider” with knowledge of their plans to have kids, why didn’t the site know from the get-go that Stefani was not, in fact, currently pregnant? The flip-flop indicates a few things: One, the outlet is clueless, which is why it picked up the untrue tabloid cover story. Two, the outlet doesn’t care if it spreads inaccurate information. Three, the outlet doesn’t actually have sources, otherwise it could’ve easily fact-checked the pregnancy claim. And four, the outlet manufactures “exclusives” just to capitalize on hot topics.

What’s more is that the online publication has a history of doing this. More than a year ago, HollywoodLife flip-flopped on Stefani and Shelton getting married. The site again flip-flopped on Stefani and Shelton being married earlier this month. And this past April, there was a flip-flop on a supposed Stefani-Shelton split. In all three cases, just like now, the webloid’s original claims were based on an unverified tabloid story. And after regurgitating the falsehoods, the outlet pretended it had the “exclusive” “truth.” Not once has HollywodLies explained why it didn’t have the “truth” in the first place. Instead, it spread lies and then made up contradictory stories, as is the case with this latest fabrication about Stefani and Shelton “trying” to have a baby. HollywoodLies is a fraud, period.
