Harry Styles is used to performing on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans, but on Friday’s “Today” show, the singer admitted he was “definitely nervous” making his acting debut in the new World War II thriller Dunkirk. Watch the full interview below!

The One Direction star has a supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s latest film, which tells the true story of thousands of Allied troops being rescued during a ferocious WWII battle. Styles appeared on “Today” alongside cast mates Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard and Barry Keoghan to discuss their experience of working on the intense war movie.

“Yeah I was definitely nervous,” Styles said of his feature film debut. “It’s completely different, I think, to music.” The pop star added, “It was a lot of fun, I really loved it. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had.” Lowden, who plays a Royal Air Force pilot in the film, further noted, “We had some of the best people in the world working on this and the pilots were no exception to that.”

As for the filming the treacherous underwater scenes, Barnard revealed, “We all got tested with our swimming skills many times. You never knew what wave was going to hit you.” The real-life evacuation of the international soldiers isn’t as well-known to Americans as other WWII battles, but Whitehead went on to explain that the the mostly British cast “grew up knowing” about the events “because it is part of our history.” Meanwhile, when Keoghan was asked his reaction to seeing the action-packed war movie on the big-screen for the first time, the actor confessed, “I didn’t know if I wet myself or if I was sweating or what was going on. It was intense.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Styles also appeared on “Today” earlier this week to talk about Dunkirk with the morning show’s anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. Now on Friday, he appeared with the cast in the 9 a.m. hour, and again with Whitehead in the 10 a.m. edition. Watch the new interviews about the movie below!
