Is Harry Styles really writing a cookbook? That's the claim in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.

A headline in the latest issue of Star reads, "Just Dessert: Sweet-Toothed Styles Scribbling Cookbook." The accompanying article quotes a so-called "insider" as saying, "Harry's compiling all his favorite recipes and notes about delicious desserts. Harry loved working at a bakery back in England during his teen years and wants to share what he learned about the art of making mouth watering pastries."

Here's what's true about the magazine's article: Styles did in fact have a job at a bakery when he was 14-years-old. The singer visited the establishment in 2013 to shoot scenes for the One Direction concert movie This Is Us. Here's what's false about the magazine's article: everything else.

Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to Styles, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that he has no plans to write a cookbook. The unreliable outlet likely came up with its premise because the musician worked at a bakery in his younger years. It's also possible this narrative was invented because Styles briefly dated chef and food blogger Tess Ward in 2017. Regardless, Gossip Cop can confirm that the singer isn't taking on a second career writing dessert recipes.

It's worth noting, the outlet's phony article provides very little information about Styles' supposed cookbook. For instance, the magazine fails to mention a single type of dessert or recipe that will be included. It's also never stated when the book is slated to be released. It's always a major red flag when a tabloid's article lacks any specific details.

Unfortunately, we're not surprised by the publication's bogus report. Gossip Cop frequently calls out Star's sister outlet, the National Enquirer, for making up ridiculous stories about the singer. Last year, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Styles was hit on by a woman in her 80s while he was out shopping. The article contended that the elderly woman offered the singer a blank check to give her a private performance. The premise was absurd and simply never happened.

Shortly before that nonsense, Gossip Cop debunked the outlet's tall tale about Styles' housekeeper throwing out his favorite pair of underwear. No such incident occurred. This latest article surrounding a nonexistent cookbook is more fiction.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
