Halle Berry stopped by “GMA” on Thursday to tease her new thriller Kidnap, but she also spoke about much more. Watch the video below!

This was Berry’s first time at the morning show since its studio was redesigned to feature an audience. Robin Roberts noted her comfort at the anchor desk, and the actress confirmed journalism used to be her “passion.” Quipped Roberts, “I think things have worked out well for her.”

In Kidnap, Berry plays a mother who goes on a desperate mission to find her son after he’s taken at a park. “It’s every mom’s, every parent’s, I think worst nightmare. So it’s real. It’s real for all of us. Like, what would you do if you saw your child snatched before your eyes, close enough to see but too far to do anything about it? But what would you really do, you know?” she asked.

Berry continued, “Hundreds of kids are kidnapped every day, so it’s real, and it was so real for me being a mom of two. Every day, it was visceral. My emotions were here, and I just thought the horror. And I think like our character, every mom would go far and not stop.”

In fact, the actress revealed she practices hand combat training in her real life. She explained, “If something goes down, I want to be that mom that can really have a fighting chance for my kids and for myself. I think every woman should know self-defense and combat training. I think it should be mandatory, especially if you have children, you should learn how to protect yourself.”

As serious as that discussion was, the tension was cut when Berry touted how great it is that a woman saves the day in the movie instead of a man. She then hilariously added, “I love men, too. Been divorced three times. You know I do!” The movie star was also asked about her viral moment at Comic-Con last month, where she drank a pint of whiskey after Kingsman: The Golden Circle co-star Channing Tatum challenged her.

Amusingly, Berry now told Roberts and Lara Spencer, “I was gonna come here and challenge you ladies, but I thought it might be a little too early to chug whiskey.” She went on to say, “I’m the kinda girl if you dare me to do something, then I just gotta do it.” But she admitted the rest of that day “was a blur and awful.” Check out the full video below, and see why Berry calls Kingsman “Bond for the new millennium.” NOTE: The video is no longer available.
