Hailey Baldwin is on the cusp of divorcing Justin Bieber? That's the outlandish rumor from a tabloid. Gossip Cop found it to be ridiculous.
Star claims that the marriage is at its "breaking point" in its latest issue. Although the tabloid initially acknowledges Baldwin's past interviews about adjusting to the difficulties that come with every relationship, it dismisses them for baseless rumors. "Hailey's been trying hard, but it's an uphill struggle with Justin's depression, which seems to have gotten worse in the past few months," an anonymous "source" tells the outlet.
"Their friends are worried that Hailey's feeling so stressed and suffocated that she might even decide to leave him," the tipster continues. "And given how fragile Justin is, he'd be more than heartbroken — he'd be utterly devastated."
Let's parse that statement out. The magazine is telling readers that a source told it that Baldwin's friends told them that they think Baldwin might be considering leaving Bieber. That's the worst game of telephone we've ever heard. It's third-hand news.
The magazine then pulls an out-of-context quote about struggling to get out of bed from an Instagram post from Bieber. It never mentions that the same post concludes with an optimistic and encouraging note about how excited the singer was about the future. Heck, the outlet doesn't even bother to admit that it was a social media post from months ago, in September.
The outlet finally retreads the same tired storylines about Baldwin, a multi-millionaire, world-famous model, feeling trapped in her marriage. "Hailey's whole world has been turned upside down," the unidentified insider says. "Before she got married, she was traveling the globe partying with her fashion pals, like Kendall Jenner and Gigi and Bella Hadid. Now they're all living the high life without her, while she's become a kind of desperate housewife."
The tabloid further claims that Bieber is endangering himself by planning a tour for his album release later this year. The suspicious source says that Bieber might have to cancel the tour "since there are whispers that he's nervous about stepping back into the spotlight."
"People are hoping Hailey will be able to talk him out of it, but there's only so much she can do," the source contends. "No one would blame her if she felt trapped by all the gloom and doom and wanted to get out from under and live her own life again."
The apparently near-omnipotent source also adds that Baldwin "no doubt turned down job offers in order to stay by her husband's side," without offering any sort of evidence or examples. "She's facing some very hard choices, and she's really struggling. Of course Hailey loves Justin, but this is definitely not what she signed up for."
Hailey Baldwin definitely didn't sign up to have an outlet spread rude and cruel rumors about her or her relationship. The tabloid argues that Baldwin wants to leave Bieber to both further her professional career and spend more time traveling and partying. Meanwhile, it says that Bieber is already taking up all of his wife's time but that he's also recording a new album and planning a tour despite her opposition. The tabloid needs to settle on a single narrative before it publishes its next made-up rumor about the couple.
Justin Bieber's made more than a dozen posts on Instagram promoting his new music in the first two days of the new year. He obviously isn't that nervous about hopping back on stage again. Plus, Bieber's expressed excitement about the possibility of touring again. Bieber did make one post unrelated to his new music: a selfie with his wife captioned, "Love from the BIEBERS." Even his brand-new single is effectively a love letter to his wife. "I'm elated that you are my lady," the pop star croons in his new song "Yummy."
Baldwin's social media reveals just as much love. Just above shots of Baldwin's cover of Vogue's Hong Kong edition are photos of her kissing her husband. "Please be my New Year's kiss even when I'm 80!" reads the caption on a photo of Baldwin locking lips with Bieber for the holiday. Her career and love life seem to be better than ever, despite the tabloid's claims.
This isn't the first time Star has opposed the couple's union. Last August, it falsely asserted that Baldwin was putting off the marriage due to trust issues. That story was just another made-up rumor. The couple got their marriage license just a few weeks after the story published. The tabloid simply can't get it right when it comes to the superstar relationship.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
