One of this week's tabloids claims Hailey Baldwin has been getting plastic surgery to look like Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. The story is completely absurd. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to NW, Baldwin and Bieber's marriage is "on the rocks" after just two months, but the model believes she can save their relationship by resembling his ex-girlfriend. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Hailey is constantly comparing herself to Selena, second-guessing and doubting herself - enough to change herself to look more and more like her." The supposed source further contends that Baldwin has spent more than $40,000 on cosmetic surgery to adopt Gomez's facial features, including the singer's nose, lips, chin and eyebrows.
The questionable tipster continues, "Even though she kind of hates her, Hailey is still obsessed with Selena. She's working hard to keep her man and it's no coincidence she changed her name to Hailey Bieber as soon as they got married." The seemingly phony source adds, "She seems to be losing her own identity - and now she's morphing into Selena!"
The magazine's report is simply ridiculous. For starters, Baldwin and Bieber's marriage isn't in trouble. Last week, the happy spouses celebrated Thanksgiving and the model's birthday in his native country of Canada. Bieber noted on Instagram that the holiday marked the first time both sides of their family got together. On Saturday, Bieber and Baldwin were spotted passionately kissing at a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game. And earlier this month, Bieber posted a photo of Baldwin on Instagram, along with the caption, "My wife is awesome."
In addition to it being clear that the newlyweds aren't "on the rocks," the tabloid's premise is totally illogical. If Baldwin had truly underwent major plastic surgery over the past few weeks, including a nose job and chin reconstruction, she would have been spotted wearing bandages. Such procedures don't exactly heal overnight. The model, however, hasn't been wearing any post-surgery gauzes and she doesn't look any different either. Gossip Cop has also reached out to a rep for the model, but it's clear that every aspect of the magazine's story is fabricated.
Meanwhile, NW has already proven to have little insight into the couple's relationship. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid in September for wrongly reporting that Bieber and Baldwin were having their wedding at Hillsong Church in Australia. That didn't happen. One month before that phony article, the publication falsely claimed that Bieber and Baldwin were breaking up. That hasn't happened either. This latest article is more fiction from the unreliable outlet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
