Hailey Baldwin has not "ditched her friends" since her engagement to Justin Bieber, despite a report. The claim is provably false. Gossip Cop can point to several examples of the model recently hanging out with pals.
But RadarOnline alleges Baldwin is "ditching her friends because" of her supposedly "controlling" future husband. The site contends she's "rarely seen out with her pals anymore — and Bieber is to blame." It's further claimed that "since Bieber popped the question, she hasn't been a girl's girl."
"Sometimes Hailey will have plans with her friends and text them at the last minute to say she can't come. She'll be vague about why, but it's always something to do with Justin," a so-called "source" is quoted as saying, though no specific examples are given. The blog's untraceable tipster goes on to assert, "Everyone jokes that she's been brainwashed by the Biebs, but the longer she goes without seeing her pals, the more they actually start to worry."
Again without any concrete proof, the unidentifiable insider maintains to the website, "Her inner circle is worried that Justin's becoming to domineering [sic]... He's surprisingly strict about how he wants her to behave. He's constantly telling her what she should and shouldn't do, and Hailey just goes with it." It's also alleged Bieber "micromanages" Baldwin to the point where he dictates what she wears and what she posts on Instagram. The questionable "source" insists, "She's so besotted with him that, for now, she's happy to abide by his bizarre rules."
But the outlet can't muster up a single shred of evidence to back up any of its contentions. On the contrary, the main premise about Baldwin "ditching her friends" is easily contradicted. Only a week after the couple's engagement, Baldwin spent time with close friend Kelia Moniz in Miami, as seen on Moniz's Instagram. There is also video on Twitter from the same get-together, showing other friends joined them, including Justine Skye (pictured above) and Maeve Reilly. Bieber wasn't part of the outing.
He also wasn't with Baldwin when she, Moniz and her husband Joe Termini stepped out for coffee in Brooklyn just last week, as seen in photos shared on Twitter. It's also apparent Bieber isn't dictating what his fiancee posts on social media. For example, earlier this month Baldwin posted on Instagram about her participation IMG's Fashion Camp, an event that nothing to do with the singer. And Baldwin's July 21 Instagram post about her collaboration with Adidas had nothing to do with Bieber, either.
In sum, RadarOnline claims Baldwin hasn't been able to hang out with her friends because of her engagement to Bieber, but she's been pictured doing just that. The online publication also alleges Bieber is so "controlling" he "insists on approving Baldwin's Instagram posts," yet many of her postings have nothing to do with him at all. Lastly, it should be noted that this same site previously claimed Bieber only proposed to Baldwin to get "revenge" on Gomez.
If all he wanted to do was hurt his ex, why would he supposedly be so fixated on monitoring Baldwin's life? The two narratives don't jive together, and just as there was proof the "revenge" storyline was false, the evidence Gossip Cop outlined above shows this one is untrue, too.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
