Is Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr.'s close friendship making her new husband Brad Falchuk jealous? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to Star, Paltrow and Downey Jr. have been "cozying up" on the set of the untitled Avengers sequel and her husband isn't happy about it. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Gwyn's so in awe of Robert and always has been, and Brad's pretty sick of it. When they're together, it's like nobody else is in the room, and she's forever calling him for advice on lifestyle matters, as well as work projects."
The supposed source goes on to say that Falchuk has put up with his wife's friendship with Downey Jr. for a while, but he's finally losing his cool. "He doesn't want Robert fawning over his woman," adds the questionable tipster. "Brad doesn't want him hanging around."
The outlet's article is based on claims from an anonymous "insider," but Paltrow's own rep says on the record that it's nonsense. A spokesperson qualified to speak on the actress's behalf simply knows more about her personal life than an untraceable "source."
The tabloid seems to have concocted its article because Paltrow posted an Instagram photo last month of her and Downey Jr. on the set of the upcoming Avengers movie. The two have been good pals for years, in addition to working together on several films in the superhero franchise. Falchuk isn't at all jealous of his wife's friendship with her co-star.
In fact, the magazine fails to mention that Downey Jr. attended Paltrow and Falchuk's wedding in the Hamptons last weekend. Meanwhile, Falchuk accompanied his wife to Downey Jr.'s 50th birthday party in 2015. It's not as if Paltrow has some sort of secret friendship with the actor, as her new husband spends a lot of time with him as well. It's also worth noting, Downey Jr. shares two children with his wife of 13 years.
Meanwhile, Star proved very recently just how little it knows about the actress's personal life. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last month for falsely claiming that Falchuk was calling off his wedding to Paltrow. The happy newlyweds tied the knot a few weeks later.
Additionally, Gossip Cop recently called out Star's sister outlet, the National Enquirer, for wrongly reporting that Jennifer Aniston would be the maid of honor at Paltrow's wedding. Aniston didn't even attend the nuptials. It's clear the tabloid and its related publications make up stories on a whim.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
