One of this week’s tabloids claims Gwyneth Paltrow is furious with Margot Robbie because her upcoming Hulu series “Dollface,” which she’s producing, supposedly pokes fun at the actress’s lifestyle brand Goop. The magazine further contends that it’s led to a feud between the two women. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story.

The upcoming comedy series “Dollface” stars Kat Dennings as a young woman struggling to rekindle her female friendships after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend. According to reports, the actress’s character works at a company called Woom. There’s nothing to suggest the name is a reference to Goop, and it’s unclear if the company is even a lifestyle brand.

Still, an alleged insider tells OK!, “Everyone connected to Margot’s new series knows that it’s going to take jabs at Gwyneth. There’s even going to be a spoof of her wacky brand Goop.” The supposed source adds, “Gwyn caught wind of it and is hopping mad. She’s sick of people mocking her and, frankly, thinks Margot is getting too big for her boots.”

The questionable tipster further contends that Robbie insists “it’s nothing personal” and “doesn’t see what the big deal is, but privately, she thinks it’s funny.” This story lacks logic from the start. In addition to starring on the show, Dennings serves as an executive producer on the series, which was created by writer Jordan Weiss. Even if Paltrow were upset about the project, why would she be singling out Robbie, who’s one of many producers and isn’t the main creative force behind the show? The most logical explanation is that OK! is the one singling out Robbie because she’s the most high-profile name involved in “Dollface.”

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with Paltrow’s rep, who knew nothing about the actress being upset about the Hulu series or having any sort of friction with Robbie. Despite what the outlet’s anonymous “source” claims, Paltrow’s spokesperson is dismissing the story. There also doesn’t appear to be much of a connection between “Dollface” and Goop, so the outlet’s report is random in addition to being untrue.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time OK! has attempted to arbitrarily pit Paltrow against another actress. Gossip Cop previously busted the tabloid for falsely claiming the Shakespeare in Love star was feuding with Jessica Alba behind the scenes of their reality series “Planet of the Apps.” Meanwhile, the tabloid’s sister publication, Life & Style, decided to create a fake feud between Robbie and Lady Gaga back in February. The gossip media has a long history of creating imaginary celebrity showdowns.
