Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba aren't feuding behind-the-scenes of their new reality series, "Planet of the Apps," despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.
The two actresses and entrepreneurs serve as judges on Apple Music's new streaming show, in which aspiring app developers pitch their product in the hopes of getting it funded. Both women have business experience, as Paltrow created the lifestyle brand Goop, while Alba founded the The Honest Company, which sells household and baby products. But an article in the latest issue of OK! claims the two aren't getting along off-camera.
"Jessica and Gwyneth are like oil and water," a supposed "source" tells the magazine. "It' shocking they even agreed to do this together." The outlet's dubious insider goes on to say Paltrow "seethes that Honest was valued at a billion dollars" and will often "take digs at the fact that the company was sued over some of its product ingredients."
The seemingly phony source goes on to claim Alba will retaliate by insisting her company "connects with real women," while Goop is only "catering to the wealthy." "The two also have different work styles," the questionable insider adds. "Gwyneth is a delegator, while Jess likes to roll up her sleeves... Producers are going nuts trying to keep things peaceful."
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source involved in the production of "Planet of the Apps," and we're exclusively assured there are no problems on set. A mutual pal of ours and Alba also assures us she and Paltrow get along well. This is simply a non-story seemingly designed to create a nonexistent feud between two celebrities.
In fact, this isn't the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk an article falsely claiming the actresses were at odds. We previously called out OK!'s sister publication, Star, for wrongly reporting Paltrow was considering quitting "Planet of the Apps" because Alba had signed on. But a rep for Paltrow told us, "Gwyneth is very good friends with Jessica and has been for years." Their relationship hasn't changed, and this latest story is equally bogus.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
