Gwyneth Paltrow has seen success both on and off the screen, and she’s recently seemed to hit her stride managing her lifestyle brand, Goop. However, like most actresses, Paltrow has been hit with a variety of fake and spiteful rumors — namely ones about her difficulties with other stars. These are just a few of the rumors about Paltrow feuding with other actresses that Gossip Cop has busted.

In July 2018, NW published a blatantly false story about Paltrow having a “wedding showdown” with her “arch nemesis,” Jennifer Lopez. According to the tabloid’s source, the two are longstanding rivals on account of the fact that both stars once dated Ben Affleck. Since both women own homes in the Hamptons, the outlet apparently decided they both planned to have their respective weddings there.

The article came complete with made-up claims about Paltrow and Lopez’s respective weddings and their desire to overshadow the other. Paltrow, said the insider, was determined to have “the ultimate celebrity wedding” to ensure she won the “battle of the brides.” It was all total nonsense.

Lopez didn’t get engaged until this past March, and she still hasn’t set a wedding date. She’s obviously not focused on the ceremony, let alone Paltrow’s wedding. The Iron Man actress’s ceremony, which occurred in September 2018, was actually a fairly intimate affair with only a few dozen guests. Paltrow’s spokesperson told Gossip Cop that the tabloid’s claims were “fabricated,” while one of our sources in Lopez’s camp confided to us that the rumors were fake.

In October 2018, RadarOnline falsely reported Paltrow was fighting with Julia Roberts after she attended a party thrown by Paltrow’s ex-husband Chris Martin. The gossip site then spun that appearance into a story about Paltrow feeling like Roberts had betrayed her by taking Martin’s side in the divorce. The tabloid even threw in a line about Roberts skipping Paltrow’s wedding for Martin’s party.

Of course, the entire piece was based on the word of one unnamed source, but Gossip Cop reached out to Paltrow’s spokesperson, who went on the record to dismiss the story. We also pointed out that Martin and Paltrow are on very good terms, and Roberts joined Paltrow on her podcast shortly after the rumor was published. Plus, the Coldplay singer’s party was more than a week after Paltrow’s wedding, as well as on different coasts, so the article didn’t even make sense.

In April, OK! claimed Paltrow was livid after a TV show Margot Robbie produced seemed to poke fun at Paltrow’s aforementioned lifestyle brand, Goop. Robbie’s show, Dollface, stars Kat Dennings as a young woman working at a company named Woom. That was the entire connection. We still don’t really know anything about Woom since the show doesn’t air until mid-November, but the fact that both companies share two of the same letter was enough to get Paltrow “hopping mad,” according to the tabloid’s source.

That same source didn’t bother to specify why Paltrow had beef with Robbie, as opposed to the show’s creator or any of the other producers. Regardless, Paltrow’s spokesperson dismissed the story. There simply wasn’t any friction between the two actresses — just like every other feud rumor we’ve debunked.
