Gwyneth Paltrow is not begging producer boyfriend Brad Falchuk for acting work, despite a bogus new report. The article alleges the actress is trying to revive her Hollywood career in the wake of the controversies surrounding her lifestyle website Goop, but Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.
Earlier this year, the nonprofit watchdog organization Truth in Advertising filed a complaint against Goop, accusing the lifestyle brand of making “unsubstantiated” and “deceptive” claims about the health benefits of many of its products. The National Enquirer now claims Paltrow is so distressed by the situation that she’s ready to ditch her wellness company and go back to acting full-time.
Paltrow is dating Falchuk, one of the producers behind such hit shows as “American Horror Story” and “Glee,” so the magazine contends she’s begun “pestering” him for work. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “Gwyneth’s handlers are telling her she’s stupid not to take advantage of the situation. He’s doing so well with ‘American Horror’ she’s asked him to find her a role in the FX network hit or possibly find them a new joint project.”
The publication’s seemingly nonexistent insider continues, “Gwyn’s really feeling the pressure to rejigger her acting career. Her lifestyle website Goop is tanking and she’s been branded a joke by critics.” The alleged insider adds, “She could really use a break and she’s leaning heavily on Brad to give her one!”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Paltrow, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s report is “completely false.” We’re further told, “Gwyneth is happily focusing most of her time towards running and building Goop. She will occasionally do a part that would require a short period of time from her, but not looking for any lead roles.” Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to debunk one of the Enquirer‘s phony articles involving the actress’s company.
Gossip Cop recently busted the outlet for falsely claiming Paltrow was worried about Catherine Zeta-Jones’s lifestyle brand overshadowing Goop. As for the actress’s relationship with her boyfriend, we also called out the magazine for wrongly alleging Paltrow was cheating on Falchuk with actor James Badge Dale. This latest article is simply more lies from the repeatedly discredited tabloid.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
