Gwen Stefani's wedding to Blake Shelton is not "on hold" because of his drinking, despite a completely wrong report. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

"Boozy Blake Back On The Bottle — Does Gwen Approve?" RadarOnline asks in a headline. The story says, "I do... want another drink? Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's wedding plans could be on hold [after] the No Doubt front woman asked her fiance to put down the bottle — and he headed to the liquor store!"

The site writes, "Shelton recently dropped 85 pounds on Stefani's no-booze wedding diet, according to an insider. But then, late last month, he was caught leaving an L.A. liquor store with enough swill to soak Skid Row for a month. What's more, the bad boy launched his booze-buying spree just hours after Stefani, 47, chatted it up with late-night TV host Seth Meyers 2,500 miles away in New York City!"

"When Gwen is away, Blake seems to play! Or, at the very least, take a few cheat days," a so-called "source" is quoted as saying. That's pretty much all the information the webloid has, and most of it is inaccurate. Shelton was, in fact, photographed leaving a liquor store, but that's not the problem here.

At issue is RadarOnline regurgitating its sister publication, the National Enquirer, which falsely claimed last week that Stefani had put Shelton on an alcohol-free diet. A rep for the songstress exclusively told Gossip Cop the story was untrue. In other words, Stefani never banned Shelton from drinking, so the notion that he's now in trouble for going to a liquor story is also patently untrue.

Furthermore, while the bad blog wants readers to think Shelton's boozing is torpedoing his wedding plans, he and Stefani have never been set to wed. The erroneous marriage claims have come from tabloids like RadarOnline's other sister outlets, OK! and Star. But there's no wedding "on hold" now because there was no wedding in the works in the first place. In sum, Shelton went to a liquor store. Everything else here is wrong.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
