Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are not expecting twins, despite a tabloid cover story about "miracle babies." Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal this inaccurate report was made up.
The new cover of OK! wrongly exclaims, "Gwen & Blake Twins! Miracle Babies At 47!" The tabloid asserts inside the edition, "With their inner circle abuzz that Gwen Stefani is expecting with beau Blake Shelton, the 'Voice' golden couple are ready to make it official." It's then specifically claimed in the article, "Friends are whispering that not only is a wedding around the corner, but Gwen is expecting twins!"
But despite the confident declaration featured on the front of the issue, it seems the gossip magazine isn't really sure that's the case. "At her age, a pregnancy would be nothing short of a miracle, but it's not out of the realm of possibility," a so-called "source" is quoted as saying. The cover, however, implies far more than a "possibility." As it turns out, though, the outlet and its "source" are merely guessing. "Word is [twins] run in her family, on her dad's side, and friends are saying she's been talking constantly about Beyonce's pregnancy and wanting to reach out to her for advice. People are starting to put two and two together," contends the supposed snitch, who has zero actual confirmation or proof.
And even though this alleged tipster is unsure whether Stefani is actually pregnant, this same "source" also claims to the publication that she broke the news to Shelton on his birthday. Those are two conflicting notions. It makes no sense to first assert twins are a "possibility" that friends are talking about, and then maintain Stefani told Shelton she's having two babies. It's also suspicious that this confession supposedly took place on the country singer's birthday. That was more than a month ago. If this truly happened, and OK! actually had a "source" with the details about it, why is it first being reported now so long after?
In any case, the tabloid's "source" goes on to purport, "Gwen and Blake really feel fate brought them together and continues to bless them with the promise of more kids. They say they have to pinch each other to make sure it's real." That's an ironic word choice given that so much of this story is fake, aside from rightly noting that Shelton has spent much of the summer bonding with Stefani's children. And even that is a contradiction from December, when the magazine insisted Shelton was clashing with Stefani's sons.
What's more is this very outlet previously alleged Stefani was pregnant with twins almost exactly a year ago. In fact, that cover also touted "miracle babies," and claimed "they've already chosen the names" (see below). Of course, that supposed pregnancy and the fact that she never gave birth to twins isn't mentioned in this new cover story, nor are any of the other cover stories in which the publication has lied about Stefani expecting. In every case, time has proven Gossip Cop was right with every debunking, and also shown that OK! not only has a fertile imagination, but a continued disregard for its readers, who deserve accurate information from a purported news resource.
"It is not true," a rep for Stefani exclusively tells Gossip Cop about this latest claim she's expecting twins. We've also learned that the tabloid didn't reach out to the singer's camp to fact-check its pregnancy story. By all accounts, it was shamefully made up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
