A new report about Gwen Stefani possibly having to break a promise to Blake Shelton to celebrate Thanksgiving with him in Oklahoma is made-up. Gossip Cop can expose this fabrication. As we've noted before, no one close to either of them is feeding details about their personal lives to questionable websites.
That's why Gossip Cop immediately became suspicious of an article published by the often discredited HollywoodLife that alleges to have inside information about how Shelton and Stefani plan to spend Thanksgiving. In reality, however, the site simply cobbled together some information that's widely known and weaved it together with seemingly manufactured quotes that cover a bunch of different scenarios. In the end, though, the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies only further exposed how it makes up stories.
Let's examine the site's article. After noting how Stefani spent Thanksgiving last year with Shelton at his ranch in Oklahoma, the outlet quotes a conveniently unnamed source as saying, "She promised that she'd be back again for this Thanksgiving, but she might have to break her promise." The blog explains that Stefani is busy promoting her Christmas album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, and that she might not make it this year to Oklahoma because "she's got so many interviews lined up, she's even doing a meet and greet in LA on Black Friday."
HollywoodLies says Stefani will try to be "with Blake and his family on Thanksgiving and then race back to LA for work." It's same seemingly concocted "source" then claims that Shelton wants Stefani to join him in Oklahoma, but "told her if she needs to stay in LA he'll be with her." "Either way they're going to be together," adds the almost assuredly fabricated source.
Basically, HollywoodLies is pretending to have a scoop about Stefani and Shelton's Thanksgiving plans, but clearly does not. And it attempts to fool its readers by cooking up a fake story about how she "promised" to return to Oklahoma, but may have to stay in Los Angeles. What's really going on is that the site has no idea where they're celebrating Thanksgiving, and so it crafted a bogus report, which has them spending the holiday in either L.A., where she lives, or in Oklahoma, where he lives.
Allow Gossip Cop to illustrate how HollywoodLies made up its story. Last year, Stefani documented her Thanksgiving with Shelton in Oklahoma on Instagram, so the site figures there's a good chance she'll be there again. However, since the blog doesn't seem to have any legitimate insiders feeding it information, it's also relying on Stefani's tweet about being in L.A. right after Thanksgiving that reads, "See u under the Christmas tree at @TheGroveLA Fri, Nov 24."
Additionally, as stated above, Gossip Cop has been repeatedly assured by Stefani and Shelton's camps that no one who's truly close to them is sharing details about their lives with that outlet. Remember, HollywoodLife falsely reported three months ago that Stefani was pregnant with twins. The website clearly didn't have any real insiders then, nor does it now with its made-up story about how Stefani and Shelton are spending Thanksgiving.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
