It's a day that ends in Y, so HollywoodLife is peddling more fake news. In its latest made-up story, the webloid is claiming Gwen Stefani is actually "brought to tears" over Blake Shelton and her sons having a mutual interest in guitar. Seriously. Gossip Cop can confirm this is yet another instance of fan-fiction masquerading as real news.

"Gwen Stefani 'Brought To Tears' Seeing Blake Shelton Share His Passion For Guitar With Her Boys," reads the headline. In the accompanying article, the site claims it "EXCLUSIVELY learned" Shelton is teaching Stefani's kids how to play guitar, and she "loves him even MORE for it!" A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Besides Gwen, nothing is as dear to Blake as his country music, so to share his own country style of guitar meant a lot to him. It seemed to mean even more to Gwen, though — she was brought to tears as she saw her boys learning from her man."

If this "tears" narrative sounds familiar, that's probably because the outlet similarly claimed Stefani "cried" when she watched Shelton's latest music video, in which her two oldest children have a cameo. HollywoodLies, as it's often called, also exploited the kids earlier this month when it ran a manufactured story about Shelton having a "strong bond" with Stefani's sons. There was nothing "exclusive" about that article, as it was actually filled with well-known information. And just days ago, there was also a made-up story about Shelton supposedly wanting to teach Stefani's sons to hunt.

None of these are "scoops." They are guesses and assumptions that are designed to entice fans of the couple on social media and through search engines. Gossip Cop has been assured on multiple occasions that there aren't actually "insiders" talking about Stefani and Shelton with the gossip media, and especially HollywoodLies. And the online publication regularly proves its "reporting" is bogus given how often it falsely claims Stefani is pregnant and marrying Shelton.

As we've repeatedly said, if the webloid had legitimate sources and inside access, it wouldn't make so many flubs like that. And while these stories about Shelton, Stefani and her kids may seem harmless, even positive stories must be called out when they are inauthentic, which this newest one most certainly is.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
