Gwen Stefani had to cancel a scheduled performance in Las Vegas on Thursday night after rupturing her eardrum.

The singer was slated to perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the annual “Power of Love” gala, which is billed as “an exceptional evening of music and philanthropy,” but she was unable to travel for the event due to her condition. Stefani had been admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after her eardrum ruptured during a flight on Tuesday. On the advice of her doctors, she was forced to drop out of the charity concert benefitting Keep Memory Alive, an organization dedicated to curing neurological disorders.

Despite not being able to attend the gala in person, Stefani recorded a video in which she apologized for missing the event and congratulated the night’s honorees, tennis legend Andre Agassi and businessman Ronald Perelman. She also thanked the attendees, many of whom paid up to $5,000 for a ticket, for “being part of this evening’s wonderful cause.”

Jennifer Hudson was brought in as a last-minute replacement to headline the event, which also featured a musical performance by Jon Bon Jovi. Host Robin Leach announced from the stage, “In her place, Gwen has sent us an Oscar and Grammy-winning superstar, who is a real Dreamgirl herself.” Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Stefani to get an update on her condition.
