A tabloid story purporting to know Gwen Stefani's reaction to a Gavin Rossdale interview was made up. Allow Gossip Cop to explain what's going on.
Last month, Fabulous published an interview with Rossdale in which he spoke about his divorce from Stefani. In the piece, he was quoted as saying the split was "completely opposite to what I wanted," and called the breakup "one of the hardest, most painful things to go through." Now In Touch is claiming to know how Stefani reacted to her ex's statements.
"She's fuming that Gavin has been talking about the divorce but not admitting that the split was entirely because he an affair with the nanny," a so-called "insider" is quoted as telling the gossip magazine. "Gwen is just stunned that he refuses to accept any responsibility for his actions."
The publication's alleged tipster goes on to say, "She has never gone negative on Gavin in the media. She easily could have bashed him after what he did to her. But if he doesn't watch what he says and conduct himself better, she will — and it won't be pretty."
Here's the problem: These quotes were seemingly fabricated. Gossip Cop investigated, and while Stefani was understandably bothered by Rossdale's remarks, we've exclusively learned that no one legitimate in her camp spoke to In Touch about it. In fact, the tabloid is actually known for having horrible, and possibly fictitious, sources on the singer.
That's why the outlet ran a completely false cover story in 2015 wrongly saying Stefani was pregnant. In June 2016 there was a piece that inaccurately claimed Stefani and Blake Shelton were splitting. Now here we are in 2017, there hasn't been any pregnancy or breakup, but In Touch is still pretending to have inside information. Don't fall for it.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
