Gwen Stefani is not pregnant, nor is she getting married to Blake Shelton at his Oklahoma ranch, despite a completely false tabloid story. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony report. The music stars aren’t expecting a child or in the process of planning a wedding.
The cover of this week’s In Touch reads, “Pregnant Gwen & Blake: Just Married!” One would assume that means Stefani is pregnant and the couple already tied the knot, but the accompanying article says they’re only in the initial stages of planning a wedding and starting a family. It’s never a good sign when a cover attempts to mislead readers.
An alleged insider tells the magazine that Shelton had been hesitant to walk down the aisle because he “didn’t think they needed a piece of paper” to prove their commitment to each other, but “after a lot of nagging, Gwen finally managed to persuade Blake to make it official.” The couple has chosen his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma as their wedding venue, according to the supposed source, who says the nuptials will be “more chill and fun” than Stefani’s wedding with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
The questionable tipster then gives a rundown of the celebrities on the guest list, including Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, as well as past and present coaches from “The Voice,” such as Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson. The outlet further contends that Stefani’s three sons will take part in the ceremony as ring bearers, while Shelton is in charge of food and drinks. “He’s in talks with caterers about preparing a feast of fried chicken, corn on the cob, barbecue ribs and more… It’s the kind of party that will end with whiskey shots at 5 a.m.”
The outlet concludes its bogus story by insisting that Shelton and Stefani “can’t wait to start a family,” and “friends believes she could end up being a pregnant bride.” The seemingly nonexistent source adds, “It would be a dream come true for them to have a wedding and a baby.”
Exactly two months ago, Gossip Cop busted In Touch‘s sister outlet, Life & Style, for publishing an almost identical cover story about Stefani and Shelton planning a wedding at his Oklahoma ranch. Nearly every detail of that story was the same as this latest one, including the celebrity guest list, the menu, Stefani’s sons being ring bearers and even the “whiskey shots at 5 a.m.” Both reports leave out one major detail: when is this wedding taking place? It’s interesting that the “source” knows all the particulars of the ceremony, but not when it’s happening.
When this narrative emerged in September, a rep qualified to speak on Stefani’s behalf assured Gossip Cop that she and Shelton weren’t planning a wedding. That remains the case. Although it’s entirely possible the couple will tie the knot at some point in the future, there’s no Oklahoma ranch wedding in the works. Of course, the singer isn’t pregnant either. The tabloid’s cover story is a complete work of fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
