Gwen Stefani Blake Shelton Married Cover

(Life and Style)

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are not married. A new tabloid cover story about a secret wedding is fake news. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

The new cover of Life & Style falsely announces, “Gwen & Blake: They’re Married!” The front of the issue promises “all the ‘I do’ details,'” but all of these alleged details were made up. Nevertheless, it’s declared inside the edition, “After hitting a rough patch, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani [took] the ultimate step to recommit to each other.”

“Gwen and Blake have secretly tied the knot,” contends the tabloid, writing, “After hitting a rough patch in their romance earlier this year, they have reconnected and are stronger than ever.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “They want to be together forever, so they decided to just do it. They were in the backyard at Gwen’s home in L.A. with just family and a few close friends. It was super low-key.”

Tellingly, the gossip magazine doesn’t say when these nuptials supposedly took place. And yet the article is filled out with tons of manufactured “details” about the purported wedding. “It was all about the bride and the groom and the kids,” alleges the outlet’s supposed source, who claims Stefani’s two oldest sons walked her down the aisle. The publication’s tipster further maintains the couple wrote their own vows, and “to remember the day, Blake had special bracelets made for the entire family.”

It all sounds very sweet. Oddly, though, the “insider” goes on to state, “There definitely will be a much larger church wedding later this year to make the marriage official.” So, Stefani and Shelton are “married,” but the marriage isn’t yet “official”? Gossip Cop can easily solve that riddle: The cover story, simply put, is a work of fiction. Call it fake news, call it creative writing, call it tabloid fantasy. Just don’t call it the truth.

Gossip Cop is told that while Stefani and Shelton are extremely happy together, there was no backyard wedding and they are not married. “It’s B.S.,” one Stefani source tells us exclusively. Life & Style, of course, has a history of making up similar stories, including a February article that claimed Stefani put a wedding “on hold” to have a baby. That was followed in April by a cover story alleging Stefani was ready to “dump” Shelton.

This made-up saga takes false turns in the tabloids almost every week, and this “married” cover story is just the latest chapter in a fake narrative. For Life & Style, Stefani and Shelton’s romance isn’t a relationship to be respected, but something that be crafted into a soap opera to sell magazines. But every new installment has proven to be just as untrue as the last. That will be the case with this new tale, too.
