A new story about how Gwen Stefani loves that her three sons get along with Blake Shelton, but wants to make sure they maintain a close bond with their dad, Gavin Rossdale, is made-up. And it’s provably fabricated, because the outlet that manufactured this latest tale tips its cards later in its article, admitting it doesn’t know key information about Stefani. Additionally, her rep has repeatedly told Gossip Cop that no one in her camp is blabbing to blogs.

HollywoodLife, which is nicknamed HollywoodLies by some, tends to take fairly obvious premises and pretends to have insight. Here, they’re taking the age-old situation of a divorce mom wanting her kids to get along with her boyfriend, but remain close to their father. And to lend credence to it concocted reports, the website invariably produces a “source close to” the subject of its articles, though the unidentified individual rarely offers any real scoop.

In this case, a so-called “source close to Gwen” is quoted as saying, “Gwen loves how close the kids are with Blake,” but “encourages” her boys Kingston, Zuma and Apollo to “bond” with Rossdale. The blog’s unnamed and untraceable “source” then notes how Rossdale spends “a lot of the time in London but he does make time to be in L.A.” to be with his three sons. In reality, a quick scan of Rossdale’s Instagram page shows that he’s generally in California, unless he’s on the road with his band.

Then, right at the end of its made-up story, HollywoodLies exposes how it actually does not have a “source close to Gwen.” The often discredited site writes, “Gwen may even have more to be happy about soon,” adding how she’s “reportedly turning to a surrogate” to have a baby with Shelton. If the blog truly had a “source close to Gwen,” it would know that Stefani has no surrogacy plans to make Shelton’s “fatherhood dream come true.”

Gossip Cop debunked that claim last week. At the time, Stefani’s rep told us it was untrue. The same spokesperson previously acknowledged not working with HollywoodLife and offered, “I pretend they don’t exist.” And the reason is precisely because the site frequently manufactures phony narratives.

If HollywoodLies really had a “source close to Gwen,” Gossip Cop wouldn’t have had to bust it in May when it wrongly maintained Stefani was pregnant with Shelton’s baby. Gossip Cop also wouldn’t have had to correct the site when it falsely asserted months ago that Stefani and Shelton were having a summer wedding. And don’t get us started with the blog’s series of untrue tales last year about how the No Doubt singer “dumped” her longtime boyfriend, or its more recent claim about Shelton and Stefani doing a new show together.

All of those articles were inaccurate, and yet in each and every one of those tales, HollywoodLies contended it had an anonymous “source” close to Stefani. So, either its “source” has successfully duped the blog dozens of times, or perhaps the outlet simply fabricated its reports. The net result is hard to trust that website’s stories about Stefani and Shelton.
