Gwen Stefani has not purposely been gaining weight in an effort to get pregnant with Blake Shelton’s baby, despite a false report. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony story. It’s completely made-up.

An article in the latest issue of the National Enquirer, which was later posted by RadarOnline, says the singer is packing on the pounds because she heard that heavier woman are more likely to conceive. A supposed source tells the outlet Stefani has been “stuffing her face” with junk food in the hopes that her unhealthy eating habits “will expand her waistline.”

The seemingly phony source goes on to say the No Doubt singer has been undergoing IVF treatments and “will try almost anything to give herself and Blake a baby.” The questionable tipster concludes, “If eating naughty for a while gives her and Blake the chance to be parents, it will be the smallest of prices to pay!”

The tabloid hides behind an anonymous and seemingly fictitious “source” to sell its story, but Gossip Cop reached out to Stefani’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it’s nonsense. Despite what the outlet’s unidentified “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the singer’s behalf assures us she’s not attempting to gain weight or get pregnant.

Of course, we’re not surprised by the magazine’s bogus report. The Enquirer frequently peddles fiction about the famous couple. In March, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Stefani and Shelton got married at his Oklahoma ranch and were having a baby through a surrogate. That article even said the couple had already chosen a young woman to carry their child. This latest article makes no mention of that imaginary scenario.

Back in December, Gossip Cop called out the publication for wrongly reporting that Stefani and Shelton had a secret wedding in Nevada. Just one month prior to that, the unreliable outlet maintained that Stefani and Shelton were having a baby to save their romance. It must also be mentioned, we busted the tabloid back in October for publishing a cover story announcing that Stefani and Shelton had “split.”

The level of inconsistency among the tabloid’s stories about the couple is astounding. In the fantasy world created by the Enquirer, Stefani and Shelton have gotten married multiple times, they’ve had multiple babies and also somehow broke up along the way. It’s clear the untrustworthy outlet comes up with new storylines on a whim without any regard for what it’s previously reported.
