A certain webloid is claiming to know how Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton‘s alleged “dream of starting a family” has brought them “even closer.” Gossip Cop is told this story is a fabrication. We can also explain why it was manufactured in the first place.

HollywoodLife writes in a new article, “Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton don’t have a child together — yet — but just the thought of one is making them a stronger couple! In fact, we learned exclusively it even helps them break tension in an argument!” It’s noteworthy that the site is pointing out that the couple doesn’t have a child together when it has spent nearly two years running untrue stories about Stefani being pregnant, including one in July about the singer supposedly expecting twins.

It’s galling that an outlet that has spread such misinformation on this subject would now claim to have any insight at all. But a so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Blake and Gwen’s excitement over becoming parents has made their relationship rock solid. It’s even an inside joke between them — like if any disagreement starts brewing, they just start talking about having kids.” The online publication goes on to reiterate that “there’s no baby on the way yet,” despite all of its previous pregnancy tales, and asserts Stefani and Shelton are “dreaming up baby names,” anyway.

“They love to play argue over baby names — Blake picks names like Billy Bob or Rusty, and she of course wants hip names like Stella and Emma,” claims the webloid’s supposed source, as if a real person legitimately close to Stefani would divulge her preferred names for a child that doesn’t exist. The site then makes clear why it concocted this article, writing, “Apparently the singers have been trying to conceive for over a year.” That’s a reference to last week’s Us Weekly cover story, which was all about Stefani and Shelton supposedly “being focused on getting pregnant.”

So, to capitalize on that, HollywoodLies is now pretending to also be in-the-know. But if the outlet really had authentic sources, it wouldn’t have, for instance, wrongly said earlier this year that Stefani and Shelton split. The publication is repeatedly caught running falsehoods while at the same time claiming to have inside access to the stars’ camps. Those things don’t go together. And the reason why the blog is often found to be spreading untruths is because, as Gossip Cop is once again told now, people close to either performer are not speaking about such personal matters with HollywoodLies. That means stories like this amount to fan-fiction and nothing more.
